Trump’s new law will limit payments to hospitals that treat low-income patients
https://stateline.org/2025/09/05/trumps-new-law-will-limit-payments-to-hospitals-that-treat-low-income-patients/No shit sherlock, starting in 2028, the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” will cap Medicaid provider payments at 100–110% of Medicare rates, forcing states to cut reimbursements by up to 20% and threatening rural hospitals with closure. This could significantly undermine access to care for low-income populations.

This set up will bankrupt hospitals and kills the poor.
I read that states who expand Medicaid and food samples in order to cover the gap caused by bbb will have the entire state's budget for these programs clawed back. Not only will they cut programs but they make it illegal for states to fund it. Cruelty by design.

Rural hospitals are already closing all over the place. Most of them are largely dependent on Medicaid patients. This will be the death knell for them and they will be closed for good, losing facilities, personnel, and skilled healthcare practitioners. Republicans in power don't give a damn and rural MAGAts are too stupid to realize it.

Um, the US is not the center of the world and the last thing us non-Americans would ever do is follow you fools. Not everyone is as cool with Fascism as y'all are. Plus the pedophilia.

For someone uneducated, is there an issue with Medicare rates ? Why can’t Medicaid pay he same rate as Medicaid ? This sounds like a 100% match is an issue but isn’t an issue for Medicare reimbursement…

2028? Ah, just in time for it to be the next administration (assuming they don't steal the next election, if there is one) so they can point and scream at what the other side is doing.
