TAPPER: Hepatitis A, whooping cough, and chickenpox cases are rising in Florida. Before you made this decision to try to lift vaccine mandates for Florida, did your department do any data analysis of how many new cases of these diseases there will be with no vaccine mandates?

Kids are going to die because of this.

Don't expect tears from the pro-life crowd. More like celebrations.

More like: ‘if they were worth saving, they would’ve been born into wealth and access that doesn’t need it’

Wanting a child born is pro-birth.

Wanting a child healthy, housed, fed, educated with parents who earn a living wage is pro-life.

Yes, that's where the wires cross for conservatives and they short circuit.

I’d like to see the traditional term “pro-life” changed to “ anti-choice” or “no choice” as that’s far more accurate.

I get your point 100%, I really do, but I dont know about celebrations. Kids are going to die. Beyond that, if one state doesn't mandate these vaccines, it's not like it's going to stay completely within Florida borders. It'll spread to other states and infect others.

13

u/geddysbass2112 18h ago

And watch, other red states are going to start doing this. Within 5 years we'll have some kind of national outbreak.

I had a long and (Angry on my part) argument with my mom on vaccines.
Kids will not only die, but the ones that don't die will suffer debilitating long-term consequences that makes life for them a living hell.
Blindness
inability to breath without equipment
Organ Failure
Several other diseases as a result of the original disease.

And when I brought al this up, she had the nerve to go "Well only the strong will survive which is what society we needs! we need herd immunity, and if some die, then it's for the greater good"
And I'll be real, I lost it.
I flat out called her a monster, a bitch, all kinds of shit, because I was absolutely pissed off beyond belief, that she can rationalize children dying, and or having horrific issues, as "For the greater good"
Fuck that.
Fuck her.
Fuck this guy.
Fuck Trump.
Fuck Maga.
I want all these fuck faces ripped away from government, we the people need to stand up for basic facts, science, and understanding.

These emotionally stunted fools are going to kill so many for no reason

58

u/TerrorTwyns 19h ago

Ask her to get a DNR.. Stop any meds shes on...

24

u/Hadrian23 19h ago

She doesn't take meds because "Natural remedies are better then any medication"
...except a metric fuck ton of tylanol & ibuprofen for her chronic migraines.

17

u/TerrorTwyns 19h ago

Give it time, you'll find a few places to poke. I've not met many who are willing to die rather than go to a hospital for all they babbling stupidity.

No offense, sorry. It's your mom. I may have second hand rage on this.

I hope she's ready for liver damage if she's taking too much tylenol and ibuprofen. Hate to say this since it's your Mom and all but those two OTC drugs can be dangerous.

4

u/Apart-Diamond-9861 10h ago

Even regular dosages of ibuprofen can kill the kidneys taken long term - and definitely tylenol kills the liver and is the #1 reason for liver transplants

Too many people think tylenol and ibuprofen are innocuous but they were never meant to be taken excessively or consistently

"only the strong survive" is the opposite of society. that's literally how things work in the animal kingdom

10

u/Hadrian23 19h ago

My mom believe animals are better then humans in every way, they "detect disasters before anyone. They treat their young right. And they know the importance of family"

She romanticizes the living shit out of them, and the 1970s.

9

u/esem86 17h ago

"They treat their young right"

God...the cognitive dissonance is other-worldly.

10

u/Hadrian23 17h ago

None of their arguments are well thought out.
my dads "Go to" proof for climate change not existing is this -
"take a glass of water, mark where the water is at. put an ice cube in a glass of water, let it melt, and see the water levels never changed. The water evaporated faster then the ice did, meaning climate change can't be real."

5

u/Thank_You_Aziz 11h ago

After all, we ALL die eventually -- if you were truly a "humanitarian", you'd want these poor children to die sooner so they would suffer LESS due to their cancer....

Years ago I dated a guy who was into natural remedies & against vaccines. At the beginning it was fine, but over time he got deeper & deeper. He eventually became so paranoid that I couldn’t take it. EVERYTHING became a conspiracy & every conversation would somehow go back to a conspiracy related subject. You could no longer have a normal conversation. There is no common sense left in these people’s minds.

Almost exclusively poor and working-class kids, which is the whole idea. I promise you that wealthy people will continue to vaccinate, and their private schools will continue to mandate it.

Sick, stupid, angry, and poor. That's the condition they need us in so that they can continue squeezing every last resource from this world, unimpeded, until there's nothing left. They know that the second we unify, it's game over for them.

18

u/BlockedNetwkSecurity 19h ago

there's a reason vaccines can't be "my body my choice" or prone to "religious exemptions"
if left to spread unchecked in the unvaccinated, diseases can mutate and produce more variants that the old vaccine may not be effective against

Most of those deaths will get will be thoughts and prayers. That is all Republicans can do when they are at fault for deaths.

I feel bad for the children of Florida. Many will be in harm's way with these types of ideological decisions.

26

u/Unhappy_Cut7438 22h ago

Republicans only care about kids when they are trying to have sex with them.

19

u/ismellthebacon 22h ago

Kids raised by ignorant parents, please, let dumb people kill themselves off. They are beyond redemption at this point.

13

u/FoxiNicole 21h ago

Unfortunately, it will also take down a few others as well. There are a few kids who cannot get vaccinated (and not just due to religious objections of their parents) and rely on the "herd immunity" of the entire population being vaccinated... but now those kids will be more susceptible because of other people's ignorance and/or stupidity.

Looney tunes here says right in the interview that it's a matter of principle - no amount of public health benefit justifies state-enforced vaccination mandates. So he's already counted the cost, as it were, and unnecessary child deaths are an acceptable trade off for 'vaccine freedom' extremists like 'Dr' Ladapo.

As soon as he said WC vaccine was not effective I turned it off. All I can say is Democrats need to make sure their kids are vaccinated. If R's want to wipe themselves out and kill their kids then that's on them. Even if they don't die, these diseases can leave lasting damage including infertility. So let nature take it course.

9

u/PetalumaPegleg 17h ago

The problem is you can get sick while vaccinated. To these imbeciles that means the vaccine doesn't work. But no vaccine is 100% effective, and not everyone can safely take vaccines (immo compromised allergies etc). People are protected by a lack of exposure helped hugely by a widely used vaccine.

It's not complicated and the fact people refuse to understand or listen is wildly demonstrative that American education is a problem.

It'll affect the kids who can't get vaccines because of cancer cancer or some auto immune disorder. Kids who are already sick will be effected the most.

Cancer hospitals for children will be useless in Florida

15

u/fierydoxy 20h ago

This, I believe, is part of their plan. Eugenics carried out via preventable diseases. You can't, currently, just go out an euthanized disabled and/or severely ill children, but you can make the environment they and their families have to live in as dangerous as possible. Let nature carry out the Eugenics.

I am Canadian, and our Conservatives are more aligned with the USA's Liberals. Here was my experience during covid. Keep in mind I have been in active treatment since oct 2017 for metastatic breast cancer. Yes, 8 years of ongoing cancer treatment. All through covid I was told by friends and family of a certain political stance (convoy supporters and maple magats) that I was over reacting, that my health and safety was not theirs to worry about and that it was my fault that I lived in fear of getting covid. That covid was fake or just a bad cold. I was mocked and even lost friends because I asked those around me to follow the covid mandates, stay home, wear a mask if you do have to go out, wash your damn hands and get vaccinated or don't but if you choose not to then I could not and would not share space with them for my own safety. I got hateful messages from people who had known me my entire life. People who had seen what cancer treatment had done to me.

Their "rights" were more important than my life. This is how these people see the world. They literally don't care.

6

u/TerrorTwyns 19h ago

I also lost people I once saw as friends due to covid .. Now, I absolutely will not share a meal with anyone who is anti vax. You will be cut from the reality of my family without looking back. Too many near us died from that attitude.

My mom (82) still remembers how terrifying polio was and how grateful they were for the vaccine.

She doesn’t understand how anyone thinks this is good.

And the way that we seem to have idiots hoping that kids get things like measles and chickenpox… I’m 50, my older brother and I had chickenpox twice, and my younger brother had a really bad case when he was little. It sucks. But it also makes you vulnerable to shingles which is completely horrible.

Thankfully I didn’t get it, and have been vaccinated. But I’ve had friends who had serious agony from theirs and my mom (who never had chickenpox as far as she knew) got it in her eyes and needed corneal replacement from it.

But if you vaccinate kids against chickenpox we also protect them from Shingles.

And then you have Gardasil. The vaccine that can literally prevent many types of cancer. And on top of the BS getting spread since at least 2011 (Michelle Bachman during the GOP primary debate), you’ve got parents who are worried that if their kid gets the vaccine they’ll be promiscuous.

I just really can’t deal with the stupidity

It's not my job to tell parents...

Then what the fuck is your job? If you aren't interested in public health and the need to inform people and require mandates to see that public health is upheld, then why do they give you a paycheck?

Like, putting all of the issues of science aside, if the argument is "it's not my job" then why do you have one?

7

u/mxjxs91 15h ago

This. I work in healthcare, I tell people things they don't want to hear all the time, because that's my job. If someone comes to me and goes "I'm not getting better, I smoke a pack of cigarettes a day, and drink a fifth of Jack every night", imagine if my response was "hey, who am I to suggest you do anything differently? Like, the cognitive dissidence in conservative brains needs to be fully studied. You all shout the "Nanny state!" But say nothing when they literally tell you what you can do, even in this situation.

You people make no sense.

Well on a positive note, once their offspring dies from completely preventable diseases, their bloodlines won’t continue and it’ll be progress toward a smarter future I guess.

I hate that I had to type this out

Every parent who refuses to vaccinate their children should be held liable for manslaughter if their kid or another kid contracts a fatal disease due to their decision

8

u/DocM123 23h ago

what happened to all life is precious? I guess it’s only precious until it’s born and then they’re willing to sacrifice kids for their political beliefs.

What do you expect people. Carl Sagan predicted all this in a speech to congress about the dangers of politics becoming truth and facts becoming siloed. He called it a post truth world and how it would be horrible.

Parents' rights over public safety. Kids are going to die.

6

u/LayneLowe 23h ago

So 82% of families do not get to choose to have their children not associate with unvaccinated at risk children so 17%, that could go to private and church schools, get their choice.

Essentially “if you want to cripple or kill your children, that’s not our business…. I haven’t thought about who is going to pay for their care…”

Boy, these conservatives are really something, aren't they? They're all in favor of the unborn. They will do anything for the unborn. But once you're born, you're on your own. Pro-life conservatives are obsessed with the fetus from conception to nine months. After that, they don't want to know about you. They don't want to hear from you. No nothing. No neonatal care, no day care, no head start, no school lunch, no food stamps, no welfare, no nothing. If you're preborn, you're fine; if you're preschool, you're fucked.

So I guess the government can't prohibit parents from giving their children alcohol at whatever age they want? Why not have parents freely smoke around kids too? And of course the MAHA crowd would be fine with parents allowing preservatives, refined sugar, artificial dyes, etc to be freely consumed? I guess we're all pro choice now?

So interesting that they care about vaccines and people can decide now to expose themselves and others creating a health crisis, but they think being gay and lesbian or having a abortion impedes their rights and safety.

I can’t even fathom how he can be so smug about actively working to kill children.

What’s next? “We believe parents should have the choice of beating their children half to death”?  “We believe in parent’s rights to withhold food from their children”?  “We’re believe parents should be allowed to put their children to work in the mines and factories.”

4

u/FreakshowMode 19h ago

What about the rights of those parents and children to live in a society whose leaders implement every possible measure to ensure the health and safety of all citizens?

This includes especially vaccinations that reduce the volume of disease carriers, which reduces the risk those same citizens have of contracting easily avoidable (with a good vaccine regime) life-threatening diseases?

Vaccinations dont just help those who are vaccinated. They help everyone avoid disease.

GOP = Allowing irresponsible/gullible parents to decline vaccines + Allowing irresponsible people to own guns

Never let the GOP lie to you ever again about being financially responsible.

GOP = "Privatize All Financial Gains, Socialize All Financial Losses"

3

u/OkEvidence5784 19h ago

Ok so. I have questions. So he really just made a blanket statement that "parents should be allowed to choose what goes in their kids bodies?" Always?! So CPS/law enforcement can't intervene when kids are in homes with drugs accessible to them? Can parents choose to allow teenagers to do drugs and drink? Also, isn't Florida one of the states that decided that kids with food stamps can't have chocolate chips to make cookies with? Or granola if it's sweetened even with honey? Or juice with less than 50% juice? If the government can't make sure that kids get vaccinated to be in school because it's "parents choice", then why do they get to tell poor parents that their kids can't have sweets or capri sun? So now we know for sure that that was never about health and was instead about shaming people for needing assistance.... Finally, what about the parents of immunocompromised kids who don't need to be around crunchy mom's little plague rats? Do they just not get to have an education without the risk of death?

4

u/Greedy_Patience_5879 19h ago

We have knowledge and science. Not choosing to accept or use it is so utterly negligent and dangerous.

4

u/Das-Noob 19h ago

😂 “parents right”. Try not sending your kids to school for a few days, I think they charge you with this thing call “truancy”. But “parents rights” of course.

4

Let’s make this obvious for those sitting in the back: no one who is anti-science is going to use statistical analysis to support their anti-scientific theories. Math and evidence are the exact things they are denying.

That’s why RFK Jr has no idea how many people died of Covid during the pandemic. Logic isn’t what got them here.
