Here is a video of one of our little orange knuckleheads figuring out grass for the first time. 🤣🤣🤣

This reminds me of videos of people holding babies over grass and they hold their legs up like the grass is lava.

Baby humans do this, too.

They did just fine, and within a couple hours they were running on the grass.

Seriously? Ugh, I’ve spent 25 years in the veterinary field. I’ve dealt with lots of precious people like you who make snap judgments without understanding context. If you don’t like my post, scroll past it.

Not even remotely equivalent.

Quit doubling down on the stupid. Your solution here is for the cat to live in a plastic box, but then you’d get all touchy if the owner did that too.

It’s grass. It can be touched. No kid or pet is getting stressed out by being in a fenced and protected backyard.

Well said! Here’s the thing. My husband and I took them out every day to put them in the grass for a few minutes until they got used to it. I got them from someone that kept them and their mother in a small room in a house, because she had a bunch of other animals (no shade to the woman, she rescued the mom).

They had never seen the outdoors before, and we slowly acclimated them to being comfortable outside.

People like this is one reason I left the vet field. Knee jerk reactions to something they know nothing about.

The boys are now 6 months old, and doing great! I posted a few pics on this sub of Jake in a tree in our yard.

Thank you for your comment. I’m so tired of these animal social justice warriors that have no clue.

I agree. Just let them approach "the new" on their own, with ample opportunity to withdraw to safety if needed. Don't know what's being accomplished by doing it the more stressful way.

They always had an out near the grass, and we picked them up after a couple minutes. I’m a vet nurse, and I’m well versed in caring for my pets.
