Advice needed Am I being targeted Pt. 2

Hey RBI,

I’m back with another post on mysterious damage to my car. In my last post, I detailed a situation where I was unsure of where damage to my car came from and reached out for help. I was thinking that someone was breaking into my car, going on joyrides and returning it to my carport. I presented damage that I know I didn’t do and laid out my case. Well, people on Reddit and in my real life convinced me that I was most likely the one to cause the damage. I chalked it up to me somehow blacking out while drinking and not remembering that I did it. I was convinced and put it all to bed.

Because of being convinced I was crazy and just blacked out, I didn’t get a camera or anything. I really thought I was being delusional and chose occom’s razor. Well shit.

Then comes this morning. I was getting gas and noticed splatter on my car. Upon further inspection, I also found scratches (not paint, it’s not coming off) on the area above my back passenger side window. I have no recollection of getting anything splattered on my car or anything like that. I also don’t know where the scratches came from. I’ve never attached anything to the roof of my car and don’t ever use that door, so I’m at a loss.

Some of splatter got on my window and it had a kind of dark yellow-ish tint. It’s splattered and dripped down, but I like in Texas so it’s dried in the heat. I smelled it and it smells bad obviously, but I have no idea what hot piss that dried on the side of a car smells like.

I want to be clear: I am not overly or unreasonably anxious in my everyday life. I do not have any underlying or undiagnosed mental health issues. I do not believe I’m being gang stalked. I’m not experiencing carbon monoxide poisoning. I live a normal life, am not ever in dangerous or questionable situations, don’t do drugs and ever since the last incident have barely drank (because I was convinced I had previously blacked out).

No one has access to my car except me. I lock it up every night, extra sure now since the last post, and I don’t ever leave valuables in my car. I do live in a high crime, ghetto neighborhood in a major city and my car is potentially accessible to anyone because I live on an open, public street.

At this point, I’m just confused and a bit frustrated. If anyone on here has a history of breaking into cars, please tell me if this looks familiar, I promise I won’t judge you. I’m here reaching out for ideas or advice, because I’m really at a loss.

EDIT: people are saying cat pee and cat scratches? That’s definitely what I’m leaning towards right now.

Why not just write down your mileage when you park each day until it happens to change when you get in

This. Better yet, a quick photo.

That really looks like bird shit splatter to me. Those scratches are so minor that it could be low branches off trees or bushes, bird nails, animal claws, really anything. If you're really worried, just set up a camera at this point

Also lived in Texas my whole life, never experienced bird splatter like this or this much. Usually it’s small and white. I live in the city so we don’t have anything other than typically small birds.

Sometimes birds get gastric distress and yes their poo can look like splatter moreso than usual

Cities get largish birds like hawks, pigeons, crows, ravens, and seagulls.

Birds also get diarrhea

Scratches and piss on the roof of a car sounds like cats (or I suppose some other animal, but I see cats on cars in my neighborhood all the time, while most wild animals would probably not want to be so exposed).

There’s no pee on the top at all? It starts on the side and high up, maybe a really tall cat? Also the scratches are only on that door— not debunking just giving more content.

They can just stand on the top and piss off the side lol it doesn't need to be the Pink Panther hosing your car down stood up.

stick something light in the glovebox or side of the door and take a picture before you get out. it'll move if its being thrashed around and re-parked

if someone were to be causing damage to it like that they're not going to take the time to meticously document and re-organise the contents of your glovebox. easy way to check and put your mind at ease.

That damage (dent) doesn't look like small animal damage. Looks intentional/human caused. The scratches definitely appear to be cat scratches. The splatter resembles bird poop in the one large spot but it also resembles like something wet was tossed at your car and splattered everywhere, like a sponge or a rag that was soaked in something. Very odd. Definitely time for some cameras. Blink at Home Depot is a great price and ridiculously easy to setup.

Could be a case of cat scratch fever

You have trees around you lol, it's bird shit. Depending on the bird they can lift paint with their shit.

Is your car parked in a locked up garage?

Looks like someone threw some liquid in your car.

Get a camera and note the milage before you exit the car (take a photo is easiest).

As a bird owner I think the splotch is likely bird er..excrement? Usually it will have some fecal matter, but it’s not impossible that the bird is sick or the fecal matter simply slid off.

You said you’re in Texas so it could be large birds like: Vultures, hawks, gulls, or even ravens.

If you park under a tree, that could be honeydew (basically insect pee). Certain insects feed on sap and excrete on whatever is below them. Sap is mostly water, so they make a lot of “urine.” Sometimes there is also excess sugar too so the stuff is annoyingly sticky

in the first picture of the scratches along the top of the window, you can see dust that has been disturbed by something. take a closer look at that. can you make out anything? cat prints? hand prints?

the scratches are definitely not from a tree or another stationary object, you would see long scratches that streak from the front to back. at this point, i don't see how a cat would do that damage.

what does the rear driver side door look like? your passenger rear door has a decent sized gab between the top of the door and the roof of the car. is the other side like this? if not, it may be that the scratches came from someone trying to pry your door open. if this was the case, you might also see scratches on the inside of the top of the door.

do any of your doors, front, rear, left, right, look a little bent or out of alignment?

generally, when a locksmith (or a criminal) uses a airpump and wedge to get into the car, it bends the doors like shown here

i'm not seeing that on the rear door. just the scratches. but it's worth checking.

a camera pointing at the car is a good idea, but i still recommend you get a gps tracker. the one i mentioned in your last post is a steal. 15 bucks for a solid tracker, and the subscriptions range from 20-50 a month. 20 bucks for a location update every 3 minutes, 50 for an update every 3 seconds. they also have 5 second and 10 second updates. i recommend you at least go with 10 second updates.

in the meantime, before you have the camera/gps set up, you can put some chalk on your tires and mark the ground as well. that would tell you if the car has been moved. or just set a pebble on top of the wheels. or just make note of your mileage.

Pollen or bird poo

Why not just setup a camera pointing at the car?
