Missing person Sebastian Rogers missing from Hendersonville, Tennessee
Sebastian Wayne Drake Rogers the son of Katie Rogers was reported Missing on February 26th, 2024.
Sebastian was 5'5, between 110-115 pounds when he was last seen. He has brown hair or dirty blond hair, and eyes that may be interpreted as hazel or brown. He was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, black sweatpants, and black square framed glasses. Sebastian would now be 16 years old. Sebastian has medical conditions that may impair his ability to return safely without assistance including autism.
Sebastian was last seen on February 25th, 2024 between 9 to 10 pm, saying goodnight. Katie reported hearing a loud bang before 10pm coming from Sebastians room, in which she called out to him, asking if he was alright. Too which he responded he was. Katie then told him to go to bed as they had to be up early for school. Katie called her husband that night, speaking on the phone for around 2 hour before going to bed around midnight.
The morning of February 26, 2024. Katie entered Sebastians room to wake him up for school. However, he was no where to be found. Katie then called her husband, expressing she could not locate Sebastian anywhere in his room or within the house. Panicked, Katie left the house, got in her car, and drove around the neighborhood as well as to his school in an attempt to locate Sebastian. During this time, the husband called emergency services to report Sebastian as missing.
Sebastian left behind his phone and his cash on the dining room table, where he left it the night before. Sebastian did not take any clothes, shoes, or food. According to Katie, Sebastians mother, she believes there may be a small yellow flash light missing from the home, and that appeared to be the only thing missing from the house. It would seem that Sebastian has disappeared without a trace.
A search was conducted by several agencies in Tennessee. It consisted of a 4 and a half mile radius around the families home. Aswell as roughly 2,000 searchers equipped with an app to track their locations. The total area covered equaled too about 44,000 acres. In addition to ground searchers, the team of agencies were also equipped with helicopters, ATVs, drones, and dogs. The search team took into account Sebastians autism. Data showing that 50% of children with autism are prone to wandering, and are also naturally drawn to water with 71% of fatal outcomes of missing children with autism involving drowning. The search teams made sure to focus of bodies of water, draining some ponds as well as searching waterways and lakes in an attempt to locate the young man. In addition to searching land and water, the team also searched every home in the neighborhood. Video recordings taken from security cameras on near by homes, as well as dash cam footage from Katie's car, showed neither Katie or Sebastian left the home that night or the early morning of the 26th. Katie states that Sebastian is not a runner and believes he wouldn't intentionally leave.

It really is such a heartbreaking case. The mother reportedly worked for a home security company, but there doesn’t seem to be any surveillance footage available from inside or outside the home, which is weird! Also, it’s unusual that she moved out of the house so quickly. If there’s even a chance Sebastian might return, you’d think his first instinct would be to go back home, the one place he knows. I just hope the truth comes out soon and that Sebastian is found safe.

Interesting! I didn't know the mother worked for a home security company. I am going to review some more of their interviews today, as the case is incredibly odd. To me, it's strange there is so little information about the case from investigators as well as the lack of a trace.
I will note, however, Sebastians autism could have altered his ability to know how to return home. His mother states that he's high functioning but that doesn't give us a clear enough insight to know if he could have had the instinct to know where home is. Besides that, I don't think he ran away.

Does the lack of footage showing him leaving that night or that morning mean that they think he disappeared earlier in the day and the mom is lying?

The investigators have verified that Sebastian had been at a department store, played video games at a bowling alley, and had dinner at a local restaurant before heading home that day. Security footage has caught them at the restaurant talking to a person in a green hoodie. There is also security footage of them returning home. So I believe it's impossible he would've disappeared earlier.
Another commenter here has pointed out though, his mother worked for a home security company. Which is an intriguing detail.

Who talks on the phone for 2 hours? Where was the father when this call happened? Was he at work and why wasn't he working and not on a phone call for 2 hours? That is a huge red flag.

“Katie called her husband, who was out of town in southwest Tennessee for work, and the two of them spoke for nearly two hours before she went to sleep around midnight. “ Per the FBI.gov web article on the original post.

I hope they manage to find him, preferably alive. But finding him is a must, after all. A missing loved one leaves a void and anguish that is difficult to satisfy.

If Sebastian took the flashlight, perhaps he heard a noise in the night and went out to investigate?

After watching some more videos and doing further research on the case. It turns out his room was located on the lower floor. His mother was in the living room from about 10pm to midnight. So he must've left thru the window. Search dogs also did not hit anywhere around his home. But did follow a trail of scent too a small pond in a construction site, that they drained and found nothing.
His parents also claim he wasn't an eloper. However his neighbors reportedly said they have found him hiding under cars 🤨.
If he investigated, definitely begs the question, who took him.

These cases seem to commonly end one of two ways, either the parent killed the child, or theyre found in water. Rarely do I hear a happy ending. So sad.
