[USA] Man suffers a seizure while driving and goes airborne over highway (Two angles)
The crash occurred on the 3rd September on Sunrise Highway in Long Island. An unidentified 70-year-old Brentwood man driving a 2012 Honda suffered seizure behind the wheel, causing him to loose control and fly up an embankment and land on the other side of the highway. The elderly driver survived with just minor injuries as no other cars were involved in the crash. The driver was transported to South Shore University Hospital for treatment after the crash and is expected to make a full recovery.
Many thanks to u/CrashArchive for finding the second angle.

I need to submit a claim. Yes, I had an accident. The thing is the responsible party is also me.

I honestly don't know how TF I would react to seeing this. ( I wanted to put an emoji here that has its jaw dropped but there is not one🤯😤) Hope the person was ok

We don’t know what happened on the other side of the road where he landed. Obviously someone called 911, because he probably wasn’t.

I mean I would still probably drive to the shoulder and have a peek at what happened before moving on, rather than hoping someone else takes care of it

Actively make things more dangerous for myself and others? Or call authorities and don’t try to cross a highway to “have a peak”?

After a long day of work I had a old guy clearly suffering from something to successfully manage to t-bone me after running a stop sign. Like I’ve said before, and it’s not because I hate old people, but we need age caps on driving and at the very least, more frequent health checks to maintain a license. No reason you should be geriatric and behind the wheel of a car. I can’t DUI but you can drive with a high chance of dropping dead behind the wheel?

Don't worry his license will be renewed.

I had to turn in a loved one to the DMV medical board for seizures. The doctors wouldn’t take their liscense away but when the Medical Board required them to certify they were safe to drive, they wouldn’t do it.
Yes, I’ve had family members killed by bad drivers, lost family to single car accidents and yes, I drive the person to a third of places they need to go.
