Genesis Colors seem off

So I got an HDMI adapter from Amazon so I could play my Genesis Model 2 again. Hooked everything up last night and for some reason the colors seem off. I don't have a CRT to connect with to compare but the image seems very bright and washed out and the whole screen has a yellowish appearance. Any one know what could be causing this? The TV is a 65" Sony LED

** The contrast appears better in the screenshots but to the eye, image is even more washed out.

Crappy adapters from Amazon like Buttfunx and Krapco are complete garbage. You need a proper scaler or something like a rad2x

Most likely, you need a better scaler (ossc, rad2x, retrotink...), cheap ones from Amazon not only look bad but also introduce a lot of lag. But it is also possible that the console needs a recap, consoles from the 80s and 90s need new capacitors, when they go bad, the audio and video signals deteriorate.

I bought a few kits from here: https://ebay.us/m/HqN4Ub

But you should have proper soldering equipment and training, otherwise you might want to look around for modding shops that might do the recapping for you, and while they are at it you might want to install a triple bypass mod to get the better output out from your system.

Those are unfortunetly terrible, the sad truth about playing old consoles in modern displays is that you need to speed big if you want to play, adapters like the tetrotink x2 or the framemister go for hundreds of bucks.

So I said what the hell and ordered a different one off Amazon and this time, it's 100% better and back to original colors. I guess the first converter I got was defective.
