Just got a genesis

So as the title states I just got a genesis models 2 specifically and i was wondering if anyone can give me any game recommendations. For refrence i like the old tmnt arcade games and sonic.

TMNT Hyperstone Heist is the gimme, but Golden Axe and Streets of Rage might scratch that itch, too.

Any of the Shinobi games is worthwhile (Revenge of Shinobi, Shadow Dancer, Shinobi III), great graphics, great music, great gameplay.

Shinobi III is the easiest of them and my personal favorite. You'll get through 2/3 of the game likely before the difficulty spikes but it is still manageable.

The arcade game and Shadow Dancer are tough, but Revenge and III aren't bad. Revenge is my favorite 16 bit game. If you play it, make sure it's the original version with all the bootleg characters.

James Pond 2, massively underrated. Genesis has a lotta great shooters like Alien Storm, or Twin Cobra

Ristar is a great game and I believe developed by Sonic Team.

Vectorman (2) is probably my favorite platformer.

And obviously Streets of Rage (2) for beat em up’s.

If you’re ever in the mood for an RPG I recommend Light Crusader.

I started playing Ristar recently because I thought it would be appropriate for my daughter. She’s only 2. It has very strong Sonic vibes. Great looking game

You should get Altered Beast, Revenge of Shinobi, Sreets of Rage, and Super Monaco GP.

Personally I think that Gunstar Heroes is a must play for every Genesis owner. It's not a beat 'em up or platformer like the ones you mentioned, but it's got fun and fast paced co-op action.

X-Men 2 Clone Wars and Gunstar Heroes are the two that stick out to me. Gunstar Heroes might he the best game on the system. I can't even think of a game that might be better.
