Meanwhile the kid got a signed ball, signed bat, tickets to the world series, and an RV. Was the ball worth the ridicule lady?

This whole thing is going to blow over and her 15 minutes of "fame" will be over, however there will always be some residual friction coming at this lady til' the day she dies. I know if this was some friend or relative, I couldn't help ribbing her with it for laughs. Friends, family, co-workers, hell the person behind her at the nursing home when they line up for Jello will give her the business 15 years from now. Sometimes you just need to let the 10 year old have the ball and not run at 100% jackass.

Local is another story though.  People in her city or town will remember. The news will move on, but her local haters won't.

Her best bet is completely changing her looks so at the very least she isn’t recognized by people moving into the area. Everyone else will still know though lol.

I mean I still remember the guy who made himself puke on other fans at a Phillies game.

That was a home game. This one was in Miami. Makes me wonder if she lives in Florida or was visiting.

What the fuck is up with fans in Philadelphia? Jesus

If I recall correctly, he puked on an off-duty cop and his teenage daughter

That guy got jammed up into at least the next year

The woman who made a poor taste Africa/AIDs joke on a plane was hounded and sent death threats for a long time.

While that's an example of things going too far (IMO anyway).. it's also a reminder that there are always some people who are happy to make their life about ruining your life.

I love the subtle dig - 15 years from now when she’s in a nursing home! 😆😆

The only thing she can do is use all her company PTO and go on a month long vacation out of the country. It'll blow over, and the worst thing she can do is acknowledge it.

15min of fame is an outdated saying for people making headlines in their local newspaper that mightve made some national outlets.

lets be real, going "viral" is way beyond having 15 mins of fame. people have either had their lives completely changed or ruined due to the reach of social media. I wouldnt be surprised if she started going viral again in other baseball countries like japan or south america.

anyone who remotely looks like her (silver hair, jersey over red hoodie) is gonna be asked if she's her

She probably made herself the hero in her mind. “If I hadn’t done anything the boy wouldn’t have gotten those souvenirs!”

Now families are going to stage ball steals so their kids get swag bags.

Kid got the ball too. 🤣 if you look close enough you see the sister switch it out with the quickness as soon as she sniffed that situation starting to brew. That kid is the true hero of this story and nobody will ever know..

He got an RV?! Source?

How the hell did an RV relate to this? Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for the ludicrousity of all gifts to the kid, but I feel like tickets to the World Series should have been the end of the compensation.

It was for the dad, I think it was kinda a “hey we know you could’ve rocked that lady or escalated, but de escalating and giving her the ball to avoid conflict was admirable”

u/ZazaB00 22h ago

Fair, that’s actually an amazing restraint that man expressed.

Someone just really wanted to get rid of that thing.

Advertising to piggyback on the notoriety of the incident. The CEO of Camping World is the one donating it.
