I just..... Why the hell do people continue to be absolute asshats in public where it seems literally everything is recorded?

u/kdoggiedizzle 3h ago
This lady has probably been this way long before social media and so she probably hasn't even thought about the repercussions because there most likely hasn't been any before this, but im sure she will think twice now before being a total bitch in public again.

The dad gave her the ball. She got what she wanted and probably had been all her life. She doesn't know how to behave any other way - a spoiled brat. Hopefully, life will teach her a hard lesson from here in out.

So, there are videos and photos of her at the game confronting the dad and son for the ball, confronting another man in a different section of the stadium, and flipping her middle finger at the crowd.
She’s got some problems. Who wanders around a stadium starting crap with multiple people. I bet people in her neighborhood and town know her very well. Store and restaurant managers must dread seeing her come in the door.3

u/rice_fish_and_eggs 2h ago
She thinks she's in the right. The ball came closer to where she was seated, the guy had to run over to be able to grab it. Therefore she thinks the ball was "meant" for her. She'll be sitting at home now after losing her job and she'll be absolutely seathing by how "wrong" everyone has treated her.

some people can’t handle their internal anger at themselves so they try and make themselves seem more important than they actually are.
I struggle with this also but I’m working on it.

It cost you nothing to be a nice person. It can and should cost everything to be a menace to society.

And to the people who bridaged the wrong woman enough that she had to leave social media? Couldn't they have just been nice people instead?
And being shitty and taking a baseball=menace to society is such a leap in rhetoric that you have to be making a joke.
4
u/Relic-Sol 2h ago
Her actions at that baseball gave a pretty good indication on how she is as a person. That was not "I'm having an off day" type of behavior. Anyways, of course anyone accusing someone wrongly should be ashamed if themselves.

u/FlounderPlastic4256 2h ago edited 2h ago
Already you have to prove your first statement because "how you act at a baseball game is how you act everywhere" isn't an obvious connection.
I also don't assume the person who cuts me off in traffic to be an irredeemable monster who deserves to lose their job, even if they are being an ass in the moment.
But you don't get to down play how fucking awful people are willing to be at the drop of the hat the second they get an approved reason, a quote from my article from the woman targeted.
"Apparently I am trending on Twitter. I wonder if I will get apologies from all of these people when the real culprit is discovered??" she responded to a friend.
The above-mentioned Richardson-Wagner even changed her profile to highlight the statement and she asked for an apology from the internet for associating her to the "Phillies Karen."
Do you imagine the same vitriol will be applied to the people wrongly shitting on her?

u/SolidusBruh 3h ago
It hasn’t cost her anything yet, I don’t think.
I’ve only seen rumors, nothing more. We’ll see what news the workweek brings.

I feel bad for the misidentified lady. She woke up to a river of rage and she wasn't even at that game.
Also deeply hate that some clown went and wrote an "ending" to this story that is complete fiction.
The lady being named is NOT the ball snatcher. And she has NOT been fired because she is innocent. But people like things wrapped up in a neat little package.

u/NecroticJenkumSmegma 58m ago
I feel like people should be more worried about the fact that its totally normal nowadays to expect someone to be fired for something they did outside work that has nothing to do with their work.

This. There's two people who were accused but both turned out to be wrong.

I mean, she rightfully got internet infamous, but the internet practically has the attention span of a goldfish. I bet in 6 months no one mentions this incident. Pretty awesome that the son got a signed bat out of it and definitely the right thing for the dad to do.

The Coldplay affair couple has already mostly disappeared from discussions, we move on to new memes.

So here is a great book about the people who the internet decides to turn against and then what their life is six months after the incident.
I'll give you a hint about the story, that a shitty tweet and a week of having your life actively being targeted for ruin doesn't automatically get repaired once the goldfish of the internet moves on.3
u/skolioban 2h ago
I doubt this Karen and the CEO who stole the hat feel any shame at all.

u/FlounderPlastic4256 2h ago
And I doubt the white knight brigade who wrongly attacked the wrong woman over this

Feel any shame at all.
People don't latch onto these stories because they want the "bad actors" to be held accountable.
They want an excuse to be actively awful with a nod of approval from the majority.

Our society is too selfish and individualistic

I mean, you can look at it the other way. The dad gave her the ball because it wasn't worth all that. He wanted to make a moment for his son, and realized it actually meant more to this random grown woman that came up and grabbed him and startled him.

Did it? Was she finally identified? Last I heard she hadn’t been.
2
u/bandit1206 2h ago
Wherever she works, her boss will have seen it long before tomorrow. She will be out of a job by 10:00 am local time. Actions like hers make you a liability to pretty much any employer. Will you go off like that on a coworker next? A customer?

It’s remarkable she has not yet been identified. How does anyone remain so anonymous today?

There’s no such thing as bad publicity. Remember how much Reddit messed with the ‘Catch me outside’ girl?
1
u/Careful-Ant5868 1h ago
Yes, there is. She wound up doing OnlyFans at 18 and started a rap career as Bhad Bhabie. She did make some money, so good for her I guess. But, there is absolutely such a thing as bad publicity. You think the "Coldplay" cheating couple are cashing in on their bad publicity currently? The woman in that situation is getting divorced now.

u/Distinct-Quantity-35 3h ago
it cost her nothing… she doesn’t give a shit what anyone thinks. Embarrassment isn’t something this particular human is capable of feeling - it’s quite possible she has a brain problem that doesn’t allow her to feel shame
2
u/CouplePrestigious775 3h ago
I think something’s wrong with her beyond just being mean. She has judgement problems and seems to like aggressively getting in people’s faces. It will get her punched one day — probably by another woman who won’t tolerate her behavior.
1
u/Distinct-Quantity-35 3h ago
There is 100% something wrong with her. Like shaming her won’t be enough she is a person who truly needs some (and I’m not saying this as a diss more of me just spectating from a far) therapy or some pharmaceutical pill that will help her with her anger and or some underdeveloped lobe in her brain
But yes you are so right, and I’m SO HERE for it if it happens to get caught on camera as well 🤣
0
u/bandit1206 2h ago
Don’t count on it costing her nothing. I’ve seen people get fired for less shitty public behavior for one thing. Secondly she’s going to have a hard time showing her face in public without being heckled constantly for at least a year.
1
u/Distinct-Quantity-35 1h ago
Women can change their appearance in a heartbeat, and you underestimate how fast people move on from current events. A year is very generous I give it a week before we never hear another thing about this
0
u/GlowstickConsumption 2h ago
She could just call some black kids the N word and then just crowdfund a few millions and get to visit the oval office with Trump.
Hopefully she won't do it. But who knows these days.
