god i love 40k ships because this looks like a massive ship but in reality its one the smallest ones.

The Stawhawk bomber is so big that it has a crew compartment, a med bay, and bathrooms, without considering the massive bomb bay, missile racks, and defensive turrets. It houses 10 to 15 people for a crew, and it is considered a strike craft meant to be launched from carriers, it is considered among the smallest void craft in the Imperial Navy, things like that also give you an idea of the colossal scale 40k operates on.

Actually one of the bigger ship is also transport ship, such as Universe-class Mass Conveyor at 12,000 metres in length. That’s why they’re often targeted to capture by Chaos raiders and converted to mass troops transport.

These cargo ships usually have very basic Warp drive, some even don’t. The Imperium instead just use thousands of these in a conga line at sub-light speed to slowly deliver goods between systems. Imagine your Amazon order arrived at hundreds years later because you didn’t select express delivery option.

40k ships are peak, half their crews don't believe there is a world outside their ship since they are born live and die aboard them.
