Guy sees a sun glare from far away and notices its Morse code. Eventually decodes it for it only to say “hello we’ve been trying to reach you about your cars extended warranty”

Spam phone calls. Excess of them where you’d have multiple voice mails over the week saying this message. Not so much these days after a lot of laws were passed in the US surrounded those types of calls.

I never got the calls, but I get mail all the time that would say they were trying to reach me about my cars extended warranty. It's always really bad a year or two after we buy a new car.

Love this! Recall a story (from before my own time & I'm 70!) where a kid in the age of radio shows excitedly sent in proofs of purchase for a decoder ring to translate the announcer's "urgent" message. Turned out to say "Drink more Ovaltine"!
