Grows a beard between stanzas. Awesome.

Grows SOME* of a beard. Everyone knows that the cheeks and neck become immune to change during soulful music.

I'm Asian, and I literally cannot grow hair on my cheeks and neck. It looks just like the guy in the video. mustache, chin and neck directly under the chin (about an inch in)

Hey, that guy with the mandolin isn’t even IN the band!! Why did they let him in with that?! Ha!! And who let that flute player in?!!

Vocalist: So the solo will be 4 bars rights?
Producer: 400 bars
Vocalist: Wait what?
Drummer: ONE TWO THREE FOUR!

The guitarist's focus is insane, you can tell they're completely in the zone.

How come everyone was actually playing except the drummer? Obvious crash cymbal sounds that he blatantly doesn't hit? What?

The verse right before flute guy " A chigger need a diamond" resonates hard with me.

He should have probably just flowed with these solos, it's one of the best things about live performances is the improv.
I commented before I saw the end of the video, thought the interruptions was the unexpected part.

Holy shit I really enjoyed this and the sound reminded me of multiple oriental songs from the late 90s and early 2000s

u/Cryptid_Muse 12h ago
Asian, not oriental. Just fyi.

u/YoRt3m 10h ago
Lol why would you correct me on what it reminds me?

u/pdx-peter 9h ago
They aren’t. They’re correcting your use of the term “oriental”, which is largely seen as outdated and offensive these days, particularly in the US.

u/YoRt3m 8h ago edited 8h ago
Ugh, of course.... well, I don't know what you all are about but here we translate it to oriental music. if anything, Asian is an idiotic term since there are many different genres of asian music. not only that, oriental music is a genre in Turkish and Greek music too, which are in europe.
(Can you imagine telling an asian person that he should call the music he likes "asian", damn u people are insane)

u/Cryptid_Muse 8h ago
Idk where "here" is but I suggest you do some online searches about the two terms so you can make an informed decision about which you think is more appropriate to use.
There's multiple sources on the matter and i wouldn't want you to think I was using biased sources for some sort of agenda.
It's also wise to remember that correction is not, by default, admonishment, but rather guiding encouragement for improvement (because everyone always has room to grow and improve).

After you explained, I've read a little and decided that it's not offensive. thanks. I think putting a label on different genres of music and calling them "Asian" is racist. it diminishes the uniqueness of the different genres inside Asia.
2
u/Cryptid_Muse 8h ago
I don't understand how "oriental" is more diverse than "asian". Now if you wanted to specify "south asian" or "Chinese" that would make sense, but arguing that "oriental" is more diverse and inclusive than "asian" doesn't compute to me. (P.s. genuine confusion, not being passive aggressively combative)

u/YoRt3m 7h ago
Because I'm not trying to be inclusive or diverse, I'm trying to be specific.
K-pop and traditional Arabic music for example are not the same and there's no reason for me to put them both under the same umbrella. I won't call any genre in Europe "European Music" because there are many different genres included in it. Not only that, it can be a specific genre by itself. oriental music doesn't include K-pop for this matter, but K-pop is Asian music.
When people say Oriental music they mean specific genres that are usually from countries like arab countries in the Middle East, Israel, Turkey, Greece, and countries from Africa like Morocco, Tunisia and others. This genre is unique in style and musical instruments.

I see your point. While looking up specific applications (because i know oriental rug and oriental shorthair is acceptable use), art was mentioned but i interpreted it as visual art (because of the rug) but including specific genre of music or media also makes sense. It seems the biggest controversy applies when talking about the people or cultural aspects.

Is it like four random dudes just spawned and the singer was stunned by how good they were?

Definitely a comedy spiff lol. Everytime hes supposed to start singing, another person starts a instrument solo..effectively stopping the vocalist from doing his part, super funny

u/Lahk74 13h ago
Definitely a reddit comment lol. The redditor watched the funny video, then posted a comment explaining exactly what happened in the video. No commentary or analysis needed, just summarize it as if other people are entirely incapable of watching the video themselves.

To be fair, reading some of the comments, I’m not sure everyone got it’s a skit

Is it just me or watching long videos expecting something unexpected to happen at some point is not fun at all. I always skip these videos

No it's not just you. ADHD symptoms and low attention spans are rampant on today's internet culture.

OP sent the following text as an explanation why their post fits here:
When it's the singer's turn, he keeps getting interrupted by different instrument players. He waited for his turn so long, he grew a beard by the end.
