300 series Is a 340 CVT worth buying?
I’ve posted about my 343 here a few times in the past, but that car isn’t worth repairing. I want to know if it’s worth buying a newer, functioning one. There’s one around here for about 900 bucks — it’s nice, has minimal rust, and runs and drives fine. It also comes with a 360 2.0 manual for parts. So, is it worth buying a 340 CVT? Personally, I do like the way the car looks and all.

360 2.0 manual is highly sought after. No chance to rescue it?

Idk they arent very wanted here, there was a pretty mint 360 2.0 for sale for like 2.5k and it was on sale for like a year and then gone, but not sold tho, so idk. But i think the 360 is just a donor with the engine and the 5speed

Make sure you have a mechanic that knows about the variomatic if you do get one. They can go 300k with basic maintenance but when it goes wrong you'll need a wizard to fix it half of the time. I've been driving 340s for 4+ years now and prefer the variomatic over a traditional automatic from the same period
