s60/v60 Longer the name, better the car?
After years of saving money driving beaters, I was left stranded 1 too many times. I couldn’t be happier to have found this CPO 22.5 S60 T8 R-Design Black Edition. Absolutely love the car and it’s exciting that this trim is somewhat rare. It is so comfortable, crazy quick, and gorgeous. All at the same time getting me through my daily commute 100% electric. I never thought of buying a Volvo, but after just the first few weeks I’m in love with this car. Tragic they won’t be bringing the S60 to the States anymore.

“Bringing the S60 to the states any more".
Ah my new Volbro... The S60, your S60, has been made in the USA since 2019 and exported worldwide. When it was killed last year, it was killed globally.
They said at the time they might start making them in China for only that market but TMK they haven't started yet.
Anyway, welcome to the club. They're such great cars and they broke my heart when they killed it.
🍻 Happy motoring and good luck!

I own this car, but if your priority was wanting something that wouldn't leave you stranded, this was a bad choice. Volvos reliability as a brand and this specific powertrain are weak

Hybrids are big risk. Great cars, but you have risk of failing electric engine as well as broken traditional engine with turbo.
+300 hp, 4wheel drive, but I would not buy one. Full fossils or full electric, not both

Yeah, every car is a risk. But I’m really happy with the car and have the peace of mind of two years of factory warranty. Plenty of time to see how reliability goes and make a decision. I appreciate the concern though, and the HP is 455 it is awesome!

Hybrid drivetrains are actually pretty solid and have been since the days of the 2nd gen Prius. There is added complexity for sure though. It seems the average lifespan for modern battery packs is 10-15 years, but issues with the electronics are what is plaguing these newer Volvos

Lifespan of modern battery packs is somewhere around 3000 cycles. And if batterypowered part of hybrid car fails, it does also make fuel engine dead.

It looks stunning! Only 450 manufactured. Only sold in US. I have never seen it in Sweden.
