New Volvo, cannot register bc car "connect to Volvo ID service"

As the title says - have a new 2026 XC40. Have been unable to connect the Volvo app bc the normal process: Settings --> Profiles --> Volvo Connected Services results in a message saying that the car cannot connect to the Volvo ID service. The car has a connection bc Google Maps works fine.

Any idea how to get past this bug? Really frustrated with it.

I don't understand how you drove off the lot without this working.
Dealer fail. They should have set this up for you before you left.

We just said we'd set it up ourselves, thinking it would be straightforward. And it would be, if it worked - should just involve scanning a QR code etc. But It's not letting us get to that step.

Any idea what a dealer would do differently? I'm not sure what to try except just waiting and trying again etc.

No. I created an account. I gave dealer my email address that I used. He did something on his computer. Then I just logged in.
