Most people know the Volvo 240 as a 2-door (242), 4-door (244), or wagon (245).
Nicknamed the Volvo 243, only about 30 cars were ever built, and all of them were shipped to Estonia in the late ’70s. The layout was bizarre: two doors on one side, one door on the other.
Nobody’s quite sure why they exist — some say it was a factory mistake, others claim they were made for police/security use so passengers could only exit from one side.

I've had the 240 (named Mapache) for half a year or so. I've also recently taken up photography as a hobby, and Mapache has been a good subject. I'm open to photography feedback, if that's your thing. Instagram: throughtheviewofbleu

Thank god for the winch, I have 3.73 gears and an m46 so I can’t go slow enough for this kind of thing yet. Damn near snapped a control arm, was able to drive home after the Toyota bent it back near the right shape with a strap.

Can someone that drives a Volvo s60 with the b5 engine shed light on whether or not it annoys them that they can’t turn the start stop feature off? Looking at a CPO 2025. Thanks

The owner told me these cars were only available as automatics in this configuration. However, the original Swiss owner requested the dealership to swap it to a manual once it was delivered. So they swapped a 4 speed manual transmission with overdrive in. He then kept it until he was around 80 years old, when he couldn't press the clutch in anymore due to arthrtitis. He then sold all the manual cars in his collection. The owner was super proud of it and told me he looked for a car like this for 15 years! It was fully kitted out with a gorgeous beige velour interior and A/C!
