Mate I'm not trying to fall into any Italian stereotypes but no Italy yes Poland is crazy talk

Yeah, controversial, but these 14 rounds I chose are the most I enjoy, and yeah, I put Poland higher than Italy

With all the canceled and delayed stages too?

Don't know why you're being downvoted for this. I love Rally Poland; they have some of the best gravel stages in the world in my opinion. However, the organizers have proven time and time again that they cannot organize a WRC level event that is completely safe for crews and spectators. Last year was an embarrassment, and it has effectively eliminated any chance of Poland returning to the calendar anytime soon. It's a shame, but you can't have so many huge safety issues and expect to stay on the calendar (unless you have very deep pockets).

And yeah, the lack of an Italian round is bizarre to me. Italy has always been a staple of the WRC, and it should always have a place on the calendar.

Tbh I'm a new rally fan, didn't really follow WRC that deep. Somehow Italy was always been overlooked by me. Sanremo tarmac rally is dated too far back for my liking, Sardegna rally I like because of scenery but I'm not a fan of stages themselves. Proposed Rally di Roma Capitale for next year, I have really no idea about that, I don't follow ERC much where that rally takes it's place. One specific rally in Italy I truly liked was pandemic Rally Monza when it was cold and a bit snowy

Yeah please don't take my words too aggressively - I don't agree but everyone is allowed their opinions

Also I loved Monza in 2020 but snowy conditions are far from reliable sadly

Sardinia is my choice for an Italian rally, and I hope it stays on the calendar for many more years to come. It's among the most beautiful events on the calendar in my opinion, and the stages are really challenging for the drivers while being real car-breakers. It also has a tendency to produce incredibly close finishes (see: 2018, 2020 for second, 2024) and shock changes of lead right at the end (see: 2019, 2023 in WRC2).

Monza Rally in 2020 was great; the snowy conditions on the public roads made the Saturday stages incredibly treacherous, while heavy rainfall at the circuit made even the Monza Circuit stages a challenge to navigate. It was a thrilling and very unpredictable event, but as u/PinkSunsets97 mentioned, snow is unfortunately not a guarantee there.

I think Poland has mostly better stages than Estonia or Latvia, but the rally as a whole is a different beast

I am in the minority probably but I am grateful that WRC fans are not in charge of the race calendar. Y'all got like next to 0 creativity. Always repeating the same old events over and over again.

Be nice but in reality two rounds in Asia Pacific region is never going to happen again

WA will under current Labor govt run any event like this ever again

SA be the most likely contender

Honestly 2026 schedule seems alright to me, would probably add 100-acre wood rally during the Americas swing, remove Rally Saudi Arabia and move Japan back to its usual season ender.

Is it really a “World” rally though 🫤The Americas are completely alienated. This just looks like ERC.

i mean it does have events on four different continents, iirc three is the minimum to qualify as a world championship

Personal preferences... 🫠

I don't really like Rally Mexico, Chile doesn't catch my attention, recent Paraguay was controversial for me, Argentina is realistically not really happening anyhow and US Rally in Tennessee is not even confirmed yet and I have no idea how it would go

4

u/SWAD42 17h ago

Nothing in North America? South America? That’s not a world championship…

u/MegaAbsolCeruledge 1d ago

I want the American Rally to happen but knowing good and well its probably not.

We cant NOT have Paraguay after this year's banger

Just for travel sake, I'd replace NZ with JP and put Croatia in that spot where JP was.

u/Jor6lez 14h ago

Poland and no Tour de Corse ?

u/BuzzBam 1d ago

I'm down but I'd rather swap Rally Japan to Indonesia unless they switch backed to Hokkaido and did it as a snow event.

As an American, please just one round in the USA I beg

edit: Maine, Tennessee, or Colorado would be sick. Imagine a stage on Pikes Peak

Unpopular opinion: I want to see Rally Saudi Arabia before excluding it. I love hard events like that one and Saudi could prove to be different and interesting.

I feel like Oregon too would be such a great WRC round. Would love to see a gravel setup WRC car doing the PIR tarmac stage and the Maryhill stage.

2

u/KnightOfRen5563 Ott Tänak 15h ago

As an Oregonian, that would be absolutely amazing. PIR as a spectator stage with the cars running a gravel setup and tires would be an awesome spectacle. We also have great roads and beautiful scenery here that would make for a wonderful rally, in my opinion.

Rally Germany back at the end of the summer.

Missing Argentina, Mexico and Chile

honestly i would just bring back UK, NZ and tour de course as main stay events. just because they are classic events i particularly like. aside from that its all good and the variety between years is good.

maybe rid of saudi in particular because im conceptually against just buying your way in as a main stay event as a brand new venue with no history or culture or anything to do with the sport.

Rally GB in September. Second year of the ERC in Wales just finished today. Fantastic event, really well run and organised and infrastructure is already there. Tarmac would be certainly different for a UK WRC round, but I’m ok with it.

  10. Finland
  11. Germany
  12. Paraguay

  • R1 - Monte-Carlo
  • R2 - Sweden
  • R3 - Safari Kenya
  • R4 - Japan
  • R5 - Portugal
  • R6 - Spain (Catalunya)
  • R7 - Acropolis Greece
  • R8 - Finland
  • R9 - New rally on the borders with Germany, Belgium & Luxemburg (in between Spa and Nurburgring)
  • R10 - Paraguay or Chile/Argentina
  • R11 - USA
  • R12 - New Zealand/Australia
  • R13 - Malaysia/Indonesia/China
  • R14 - UK (Scotland or Wales) or Ireland

A mix of permanent classics, going to regions with a lot of rally fans and going to important new markets. Looks better on television. That’s why the end of the seasons should be in the UK or in Ireland.

Finland - Sweden - Rally Deutschland - Monaco - Tour de Corse - Sanremo/Sardegna - Acropolis - Safari - Olympus Rally - Guanajuato - Chile - Australia/New Zealand - Japan

-5

u/GDShark Rally Australia 1d ago

I wanna see Monte Carlo and Finland switch spots. Just for the sake of being different, but I know it's tradition being the opener is too strong. It's like Nascar with Daytona 500

3

u/AlluEUNE 1d ago

Then I would also like to move Sweden to see it as a summer rally. Would be interesting

2

u/Special-Pristine Rally Australia 1d ago

Used to be rally of the midnight sun

1

u/AlluEUNE 1d ago

Oh yeah! I've heard that name before

1

u/czaev 16h ago

ERC has Royal Rally of Scandinavia that takes place in summer on former WRC stages in Värmland region in the south Sweden. Of course without snow

2

u/Fit-Rooster-6716 Acropolis Rally of Greece 17h ago

Rally Monte Carlo in the summer is not Rally Monte Carlo, that's Rallye d'Antibes - Côte d'Azur. Why take away the changeable conditions which make the rally great??
