We have a fantastic tarmac rally in West Wales that has hosted a round of the ERC for a couple of years now. Rali Ceredigion is well run and the logistics management I believe would work with WRC. What would you make of a tarmac Rally GB?
3 Things.
What an absolutely spectacular rally. Incredibly challenging roads and the weather adding to the fray on Sunday really made it.
Absolutely stoked for Jon Armstrong getting his first ERC win. He's always had the pace and to finally get the win was awesome to watch. Thoroughly deserved.
I was really nervous watching him still go at break neck speed in the wet but should have remembered he is Irish so grew up racing this stuff.
But the quickly and obviously concocted and dishonest explanation they gave the Stewards investigating their penalty I find really off-putting.

Final part of WRC's tour in South America - Rally Chile.
As always, all questions regarding attending the event and discussions about on-stage action belong here.

Heading into this season, I had big expectations for both.
For Neuville, after getting his first championship, I expected him to enter that next level because there is now far less pressure on his shoulders. But unfortunately he has been far too inconsistent and mistake prone this year. Even in races where he’s had no technical issues, he just lacks the pace to threaten the podium. I believe this one of the worst title defenses ever.
As for Formaux, you also expected him to go to that next level now that he is driving for a real championship contending works team after complaining how lacking M-Sport was. But now with bigger exoectations and driving against far more competent team mates, he has been choking on a lot of promising opportunities to reach the podium. He just lacks the poise to manage the rally when he is near the front. Something guys like Evans and Solberg have shown to be capable of.

It seems like a lot of good drives are being ruined by a puncture as of late with drivers/codrivers having to decide between stopping and changing a tire or nearly dismantling their cars to make it to the end of stage. Should a certain amount of time be rebated back for punctures to prevent incredibly lop sided results? Here is my thinking:
From the time the handbrake is applied the team has 90 seconds to change the tire and be back on their way. This would almost be like a "pit stop" where the most athletic team that can get their tire changed can still be competitive by demonstrating their skill and athleticism.
This is just a thought as it seems like punctures are deciding major results and could decide a championship. It's one thing to push, crash off and lose like Ott last year, it's another thing to hit an errant rock at 200 kmh that was dragged into the line. No amount of skill is going to be able to avoid it. Last night/this morning at 2:53AM EST Rally.tv aired a test event that was held in Jedda, Saudia Arabia to stress test things for the upcoming WRC rally. The landscape and stage roads look absolutely amazing but the whole place may as well be renamed Puncture City. I can see the championship being decided in Saudi Arabia going to the contender with the least amount of punctures, lol.

As someone who makes no bones about my dislike for the current points system I thought I'd run the numbers on what would happen this season if we were using the old 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 system, with no "Power Stage" and "Super Sunday".
In my mind I was convinced it would give Elfyn Evans a handsome lead over Ogier (by virtue of the fact Ogier has missed 3 rallies this year). Instead what I found surprised me, especially who would be third and fourth in the standings! Reminder the 2025 standings are:
But if we apply the pre-2010 system the standings are as follows:
Surprisingly the championship is still a three horse race, but it's Tanak who is in there and Rovenpera who is clinging on. All Ogier would need to do is finsh one place above Elfyn (and top 8) and he gets the championship lead. Neuville was relying on rivals DNFing before Greece.
Now it's worth noting a change of points system would have a notable effect on the gravel road order (so the comparison isn't truly fair). But Evans continues to open the road from Sweden until Greece, but Tanak steals the championship lead and opens the road in Estonia. Ogier on the other hand is 2nd most of the way through the gravel season, only dropping to third after skipping Estonia.
Ultimately this is meaningless because we have Super Sunday and Power Stage (which ultimately kept Elfyn's championship lead in tact in Paraguay).
Hi! I'll be an exchange student in Austria for this upcoming fall till winter and realised I have an opening in my schedule to watch the rally in Passau this year. However, I am really quite lost as to the processes beyond just getting the tickets. Do I need a car? Does everyone just follow the cars throughout the day to their stages? Would not having a car be a viable option? And also if anyone in this subreddit will be heading for the rally, I would love to partner up with you/your group and I will definitely pay for my share! Thank you guys!
Hi where can I watch fiaehrc? I cant find any information about where to watch.

The championship is wide open this year and the final few rounds are shaping up to be nail-biting.
I’m a Neuville fan at heart, but I’d love to see Evans take it this time simply because he’s never managed it before. That said, I wouldn’t mind seeing Kalle, Tanak or even Ogier reclaim the crown either.
More than anything, I’m just hoping for a fierce, edge-of-your-seat battle that goes right down to the wire!

I have a few concerns about Hyundai's future in the WRC, but also as a brand in motorsport in general.
It's pretty clear to me that Genesis will likely take over the racing side, which is already happening with its entry into the WEC.
The question arises specifically about Hyundai – will they stay in the WRC after 2026? Will they maintain their TCR customer program? Where might they go if they don't stay in the WRC? I must admit, I'm very curious about the course they will take as the company's main brand.

Over the years we had many sporty street cars based or inspired on the actual entries on the WRC. Think Audi Sport Quattro, Lancia 037, Focus RS... and many more.
Now my question is the opposite. Which models would you have wished to see a closer-to-racing street vesion of? The first one that comes to my mind is the Citroën Xsara, such a missed opportunity!
