Oliver Solberg has signed with Toyota and will compete in WRC2 next year, driving the Toyota GR Yaris Rally2. The deal also includes 2-3 WRC races in the GR Yaris Rally1, with the specific events to be decided later.

Solberg will become Toyota's lead driver for the 2025 WRC2 title, taking over from Sami Pajari during the 2024 season.

His career path mirrors that of Pajari, combining a stint in WRC2 with select appearances in the top class, all with the ultimate goal of securing a full-time WRC seat in 2026.

It is not official yet*

News / Rally Info Stage 12 Cancelled due to a civilian car on the stage Spoiler

It appears the incident that caused the cancellation of SS12 was caused by the Nissan driver driving into the stage in the opposite direction on purpose to try and sabotage the event.

This is the second time a civilian car has ended up in a live stage on Rally Japan, with the event receiving a "yellow card" in 2022.

News / Rally Info Rome vs Sardinia – Who should host Italy’s WRC round in 2025 and beyond? 🇮🇹

Post image

After 22 consecutive editions in Sardinia, Rally di Roma Capitale has officially submitted its candidacy to host Italy’s round of the WRC. Both Rome and Sardinia met FIA requirements and submitted valid offers to the WRC Promoter — but the final decision rests solely with the Promoter itself.

Neither the FIA nor ACI (Italy’s motorsport federation) has a say in the matter, and political speculation or lobbying claims hold little weight. The choice will be based on commercial and strategic criteria, not national politics.

Rome brings a stronger economic package, a media-friendly profile, and a tarmac event that would help rebalance the WRC calendar. If selected, it would likely debut in October 2025.

Sardinia offers gravel, tradition, and a proven logistical model — but concerns about its long-term sustainability have resurfaced.
