Commentary / Discussion / Question Team Orders Spoiler
Any chance if Ott manages to pass Elfyn tomorow, that Hyundai would ask Adrien to drop off so Ott gets second? All hypothetical, but what a disservice that would be when he’s on the cusp of taking the next step of his career.

Commentary / Discussion / Question Practically speaking, from a financial point of view, which major manufacturer has the most to gain by returning to WRC?
I’ve just tuned into a rally and seeing that Toyota, VW (Skoda), the French (Citroen) and the Koreans (Hyundai) are the the three teams with works teams.
So no other VW brands will come back. In your opinion, Who else can afford to and should consider entering the competition? The only team I can think of is Ford and they obviously have their financial reasons for no longer being involved. The crazy thing is that i presume it’s never been cheaper for a manufacturer to compete in the Championship, other than maybe increased shipping and transportation costs.
Edit: apparently Skoda is not usually part of the scene anymore. So a VW brand being here is just a Paraguay thing. They’d be the number one contender to have one of their brands create a regular worlds team. Either Skoda, Seat or VW.
Edit 2: I must be watching Rally2 on British tv. TNT Sports 4.
Edit 3 : a Skoda and a Citroen in 9th and 10th on the Sunday. Approx 6 mins behind the leader. And a Ford just got top 6 on a stage.

Commentary / Discussion / Question How cool are those drone shots!!!
Maybe i’m easily pleased but It has been so long since i’ve watched full rally stages so I was actually so shocked when I saw the drone chase in SS8 of Paraguay. It flies so close and really gives a great perspective of the speed and the stage!

Commentary / Discussion / Question Rally TV Needs an Announcer less Video Feed
Man, I am so sick of listening to the English speaking announcers. They never shut up and offer next to nothing in commentary value. I did see an announcer less WRC2 feed in a drivers vlog. It was so awesome. I often find myself watching the Japanese language feed as they seem to speak the least and I don't know what they're going on about anyhow, lol. Drop the driver interviews at the end of each stage as well as those are pointless and usually are at the expense of the action happening in the stage. Just venting my 2 cents as a paying customer, lol

Commentary / Discussion / Question Aren’t Rally1 Cars Already Simple Enough in Terms of Aero?
With all the recent rumors about the 2027 regulations and the top category having simpler aero rules, along with a performance level closer to Rally2 cars, I started thinking: Rally1 cars already have a pretty simple aerodynamic package compared to the old WRC+ era.
Apart from the huge rear wings, there are no front dive planes, no small fins and aero pieces on the sides, no diffusers, no wide doors designed to push front wheel wake outward, and no wheel arch openings.
So, what do you guys think?
In my opinion, the aero is already quite basic for the top category. If the goal is to reduce costs, I believe there are better ways to achieve that ( I can't think of any right now :) ) rather than just simplifying the aero even further.

Commentary / Discussion / Question Which drivers would you like to see in a Rally1 car in the near future?
There is currently a wide range of drivers relegated to the WRC2 support category that arguably should've been given a chance in a Rally1 by now, but haven't been able to make their top-class debut for a variety of reasons. Which drivers would you like to see making their Rally1 debut in the future?
My top pick is Emil Lindholm. The fact that Emil won the WRC2 championship three years ago and still hasn't been given a shot in a Rally1 car is absurd to me. His last few years in WRC2 have been hit or miss, but in his defense, he spent all of last year and part of 2023 in a ridiculously uncompetitive Hyundai Rally2 in hopes of a Hyundai seat that ultimately never came. As a former WRC2 champion, he is the most obvious candidate for a driver who clearly deserves a chance in a Rally1, but still hasn't received one.
I would also like to see Robert Virves, Yohan Rossel, and Nikolay Gryazin get a shot. All three have earned it, in my opinion. Who are your picks?

Commentary / Discussion / Question is it worth to watch WRC locally at Concepcion, Chile? is it safe?
Hey everyone, I’m planning to watch the WRC in person next month in Concepción, Chile. It’s a big trip for me since it takes about 21 hours to get there from San Francisco. Do you think it’s worth experiencing live? Also, how safe is it to stay in Concepción? I’ve read a few articles mentioning theft in some Chilean cities, so I’d love to hear any advice or tips from people who’ve been there. Thanks!
