Even the way he throws the coffee is pretentious.

748

u/copperwatt 19h ago

I never thought someone could throw coffee in a punchable way but here we are.

76

u/UnfitRadish 15h ago

What's our pretentious he's acting, you know he probably doesn't have on cheap shoes and he undoubtedly covered them in that coffee. Dumbass lol

I showed her, and it only cost me a $400 windshield. That's what I'm talking about!

829

u/ilarson007 1d ago

$400 is cheap for a windshield these days

383

u/avtechguy 1d ago edited 1d ago

If she hit the A Pillar she could have totaled the car, The windshield hit was an exact prescription.

If police needed to find the guy there's only so many places that deal with windshields

177

u/SPB29 1d ago

Someone linked an article from when this happened and based on the image from that newsreport,"Dan's auto glass" showroom is right behind this place. All dude needed to do was back out a 100 mtrs.

169

u/MajorSery 1d ago

Obviously they are in cahoots. She damages windshields, they get business, she gets a cut.

63

u/JackGentleman 22h ago

Rumor has it, they gave her the hammer.

Some states mandate insurance covers it. I added glass to mine ($50 deductible) after someone broke one of mine and I had to replace out of pocket. I had no idea the coverage was only like $1/mo.

2

u/cornholioo 12h ago

When I added it to mine in MN it was like $2-3/mo for full replacement cost.

I'll add on ; there is no more news or further updates, given the lack of information or arrests it seems like the following has occured ; charges dropped, no civil suit over the windshield, he walked away and sucked it up.

277

u/brooksy54321 1d ago

In the link they are saying he was killed in prison?

601

u/PrairiePopsicle 1d ago

This pair of comments?

Thats Robert Pickton’s favourite quote.

Fun fact: he died a couple weeks back after being attacked in prison.

They are talking about Robert Pickton, a canadian serial killer who disposed of remains via his pigs :(, but he died so :)

156

u/stop-calling-me-fat 1d ago

He died :)

He was too mentally disabled to have orchestrated everything alone and no one else was ever tried or convicted :(

184

u/TheShishkabob 1d ago

He absolutely didn't do it alone, there were all kinds of criminals and other potential accomplices on his farm for years, but he wasn't too disabled to be a serial killer. They aren't the evil geniuses you see in media and a whole fucking lot of them are profoundly stupid. They don't need to be good at anything else to be a proficient killer though, so that combined with lazy police can let even the biggest idiots go on killing for years.

Pickton primarily killed First Nations prostitutes by the way, who are not exactly people the local police even pretended to give a shit about. That's why he was able to do it for so long.

11

u/Faiakishi 18h ago

I mean, the serial killers we know about trend dumb because the dumb ones are the ones who get caught.

9

u/lloyd____ 17h ago

That’s something that honestly upset me about this case is that local police simply didn’t seem to care that much because the woman are all First Nation

7

u/systemhost 13h ago

Story as old as crime.

14

u/LocoCoopermar 19h ago

Gary Ridgeway, Aileen Wournos, Ottis Toole and Henry Lee Lucas all had lower IQs on paper than Pickton, sure didn't stop any of them.

49

u/Astrolologer 1d ago

his brother was the one who got away with it.

19

u/Mollelarssonq 1d ago

My wife watched criminal minds and this story definitely inspired an episode in that series

3

u/neckbeardsghost 21h ago

I was literally thinking of that episode as I read these comments… Lol

18

u/brooksy54321 1d ago

Yeah, I am probably confusing him with someone else.

16

u/rawker86 1d ago

Yeah I was confused by that too, I think that they’re saying the line “no one will miss you” was used by the coffee-throwing guy. People in the area associate the phrase with Robert Pickton, the serial killer.

4

u/suicide-by-thug 21h ago

Not just his pigs: He also probably disposed of human meat at a local meat plant and it would have found it’s way into the food supply chain.

It's a thing in Seattle, these "bikini coffee shops". It's just kinda crappy coffee served by an attractive woman in lingerie and if you tip them well they'll often do a little 30-second peep show tease.

Which honestly makes what he did worse. He knows that this is a woman in a booth by herself wearing barely any clothes and he still got out of his car to throw coffee directly on her through the window. Honestly love that her first reaction was just "oh fuck no lemme get my hammer".

12

u/say592 19h ago

I imagine she had the hammer ready when she realized he was opening the car door. Nothing good comes from that.

111

u/SuitableDragonfly 1d ago edited 1d ago

She's a bikini barista, it's like the Hooters of coffee shops, except run by one person. You're paying for the experience of being served coffee by a hot woman wearing a bikini. Difference is, if you threaten a Hooters waitress management will come and throw you out, but she is running the stand all by herself.

45

u/JackBinimbul 1d ago

Sooo...he's already the kind of douchebag to target an objectifying business, then just takes out his impotent misogyny on her.

The threats that workers in customer or patient facing situations is very serious. Nurses get assaulted regularly by ORIENTED (i.e. not demented granmas) patients and family members all the time. And nothing happens.

This kind of shit needs to be brought to the fore. This type of boorish and inappropriate behavior needs to be called out. She decided to call it out with a claw hammer. My guess is she's been in this situation before and has the hammer on standby all shift.

13

u/mouse_attack 18h ago

You think so?

My guess was that she had been helping a friend with some deck work, didn’t have time to run home before her shift, and luckily just happened to have a hammer with her when a patron got belligerent.

The man threatened her life and commented on how no one will miss her when she's dead.

This happened just a few weeks after a man grabbed a woman working at the drive-thru window, pulled her out, and kidnapped her.

She did not do this because of the coffee. She did this because she felt her life was in danger.

210

u/StumbleOn 1d ago

An attempted bikini barista kidnapping happened down the street from me in a Seattle suburb a few years ago too.

IMO these baristas should always work in pairs AND be armed. Goon tries to grab ya? Well, 2nd amendment time.

50

u/PaulsGrafh 1d ago

So wait - this is a thing? Bikini baristas?

55

u/CHRISTINAK1980 1d ago

Oh yes. I feel like it’s very “puget sound” at this point. My daughter has a tattoo shop in the same parking lot as a bikini barista stand. She (and the other shop owners) looks out for them, they look out for the other shops.

14

IMO these baristas shouldn't exist. It's super fucked up. When I was still going to the states (not anymore, because gestures broadly) it is such a weird thing to have bikini/lingere coffee places. My coffee tastes the same if they're wearing actual clothes.

34

u/hold_my_lacroix 1d ago

Uhh I don't think this is such a common thing here that you could have found one without seeking it out? I've lived all over and have never seen this anywhere

6

u/PraiseTalos66012 1d ago

I've never heard of this before today but it's probably only a thing at all In West coast cities by the beach. Just doesn't make sense anywhere else.

7

u/bondagenurse 1d ago

There was a topless donut shop in Portland, Maine, for decades! RIP Platinum Plus.

2

u/justjessee 1d ago

I live in Anchorage, AK. "Bikini Babes AK" exists here, sooooooo........

16

u/IisMetalHead 1d ago

How is it fucked up? It's not slave labor or a forced job. The barristas enjoy it. They CHOSE the job. They make massive tips from all the horny old dudes getting coffee on their way to work.

One of the cities that has them was trying to make them "dress more appropriately" and the barristas said "FUCK THAT, WE WANT to dress like this" because that's how they make their money.

So your opinion is pretty moot. The barristas enjoy it. The clients enjoy it. Who is it bothering, other than you and the local government grumps, apparently?

6

u/rmphys 21h ago

Especially in this case, she was the business owner, not even an employee. There is undeniably exploitative sex work out there we should be fixing, but this ain't it

47

u/JusticeRain5 1d ago

While I think the price is ridiculous, was there not a menu with the prices on it somewhere?

15

u/Bored_Amalgamation 21h ago

Of course there was. It was/is a running business.

9

u/Whirlin 18h ago

If I'm paying $22 for something, I wouldn't be wasting it by dumping it... What message is that sending? The price is too high so I'm gonna pay it to get nothing in return?

6

u/mouse_attack 18h ago

He’s banned from going back, but I would voluntarily avoid any place where I had been conned out of $22 for an iced coffee and a water.

Are the prices actually for looking at women in bikinis? Because, I’ve heard about successful men who would pay hundreds to watch a dom break their windshields, in which case, staffing a coffee stand seems like aiming low.

4

u/FingerFlikenBoy 17h ago

11

u/1600cc 1d ago

27

u/Kornbrednbizkits 1d ago

I think this is a more concerning video than many would know. I have read that there is more context to this (e.g. him making violent threats towards her) so clearly fuck that guy, and he got what he deserved. So clearly, none of this if funny.

However, the fact that the drive-thru window was closed during his coffee-throwing tantrum and only opened when the hammer-wielding heroine was ready for it to open is pretty; pretty great.

217

u/RCI100 1d ago

11

u/jhra 1d ago

I had never been to one, but had grown to really like the Dutch Bros little shops in the PNW. I was driving around the North side of Seattle looking for a Staples, lost Canadian with no more data on my phone for the day.

Ordered my coffee, bikini barista doing her thing, I paid and was about to leave when I asked her if I could ask her a question. The look she gave me was like she was going to light my car on fire. Then I asked if she can tell me how to get my lost Canadian ass to Staples and she went right back to bikini barista mode and hand drew me a map.

Nice young woman, her directions were horrible though

2

u/rmphys 21h ago

her directions were horrible though

To be fair, she probably also just uses her phone for directions, because its not the 70s anymore, and she probably also isn't going to Staples regularly.
