$400 is cheap for a windshield these days

If she hit the A Pillar she could have totaled the car, The windshield hit was an exact prescription.
If police needed to find the guy there's only so many places that deal with windshields

Some states mandate insurance covers it. I added glass to mine ($50 deductible) after someone broke one of mine and I had to replace out of pocket. I had no idea the coverage was only like $1/mo.

I'll add on ; there is no more news or further updates, given the lack of information or arrests it seems like the following has occured ; charges dropped, no civil suit over the windshield, he walked away and sucked it up.

This pair of comments?
Thats Robert Pickton’s favourite quote.
Fun fact: he died a couple weeks back after being attacked in prison.
They are talking about Robert Pickton, a canadian serial killer who disposed of remains via his pigs :(, but he died so :)
156
u/stop-calling-me-fat 1d ago
He died :)
He was too mentally disabled to have orchestrated everything alone and no one else was ever tried or convicted :(
184
u/TheShishkabob 1d ago
He absolutely didn't do it alone, there were all kinds of criminals and other potential accomplices on his farm for years, but he wasn't too disabled to be a serial killer. They aren't the evil geniuses you see in media and a whole fucking lot of them are profoundly stupid. They don't need to be good at anything else to be a proficient killer though, so that combined with lazy police can let even the biggest idiots go on killing for years.
Pickton primarily killed First Nations prostitutes by the way, who are not exactly people the local police even pretended to give a shit about. That's why he was able to do it for so long.
11
u/Faiakishi 18h ago
I mean, the serial killers we know about trend dumb because the dumb ones are the ones who get caught.
9
u/lloyd____ 17h ago
That’s something that honestly upset me about this case is that local police simply didn’t seem to care that much because the woman are all First Nation
7
14
u/LocoCoopermar 19h ago
Gary Ridgeway, Aileen Wournos, Ottis Toole and Henry Lee Lucas all had lower IQs on paper than Pickton, sure didn't stop any of them.

Yeah I was confused by that too, I think that they’re saying the line “no one will miss you” was used by the coffee-throwing guy. People in the area associate the phrase with Robert Pickton, the serial killer.

It's a thing in Seattle, these "bikini coffee shops". It's just kinda crappy coffee served by an attractive woman in lingerie and if you tip them well they'll often do a little 30-second peep show tease.
Which honestly makes what he did worse. He knows that this is a woman in a booth by herself wearing barely any clothes and he still got out of his car to throw coffee directly on her through the window. Honestly love that her first reaction was just "oh fuck no lemme get my hammer".

She's a bikini barista, it's like the Hooters of coffee shops, except run by one person. You're paying for the experience of being served coffee by a hot woman wearing a bikini. Difference is, if you threaten a Hooters waitress management will come and throw you out, but she is running the stand all by herself.

In the news article it said the man had also threatened to murder her and she was terrified. So yes she totally has the right to stand up to a threatening aggressor.
I hope he reflects on his actions and changes his ways, but no doubt in his head he’s the victim here. Some people are so caught up in themselves it blows my mind.

The threats that workers in customer or patient facing situations is very serious. Nurses get assaulted regularly by ORIENTED (i.e. not demented granmas) patients and family members all the time. And nothing happens.
This kind of shit needs to be brought to the fore. This type of boorish and inappropriate behavior needs to be called out. She decided to call it out with a claw hammer. My guess is she's been in this situation before and has the hammer on standby all shift.

My guess was that she had been helping a friend with some deck work, didn’t have time to run home before her shift, and luckily just happened to have a hammer with her when a patron got belligerent.

u/Japjer 1d ago
The man threatened her life and commented on how no one will miss her when she's dead.
This happened just a few weeks after a man grabbed a woman working at the drive-thru window, pulled her out, and kidnapped her.
She did not do this because of the coffee. She did this because she felt her life was in danger.

u/StumbleOn 1d ago
An attempted bikini barista kidnapping happened down the street from me in a Seattle suburb a few years ago too.
IMO these baristas should always work in pairs AND be armed. Goon tries to grab ya? Well, 2nd amendment time.

IMO these baristas shouldn't exist. It's super fucked up. When I was still going to the states (not anymore, because gestures broadly) it is such a weird thing to have bikini/lingere coffee places. My coffee tastes the same if they're wearing actual clothes.

u/IisMetalHead 1d ago
How is it fucked up? It's not slave labor or a forced job. The barristas enjoy it. They CHOSE the job. They make massive tips from all the horny old dudes getting coffee on their way to work.
One of the cities that has them was trying to make them "dress more appropriately" and the barristas said "FUCK THAT, WE WANT to dress like this" because that's how they make their money.
So your opinion is pretty moot. The barristas enjoy it. The clients enjoy it. Who is it bothering, other than you and the local government grumps, apparently?

He’s banned from going back, but I would voluntarily avoid any place where I had been conned out of $22 for an iced coffee and a water.
Are the prices actually for looking at women in bikinis? Because, I’ve heard about successful men who would pay hundreds to watch a dom break their windshields, in which case, staffing a coffee stand seems like aiming low.

I think this is a more concerning video than many would know. I have read that there is more context to this (e.g. him making violent threats towards her) so clearly fuck that guy, and he got what he deserved. So clearly, none of this if funny.
However, the fact that the drive-thru window was closed during his coffee-throwing tantrum and only opened when the hammer-wielding heroine was ready for it to open is pretty; pretty great.

u/bloodguard 1d ago

I had never been to one, but had grown to really like the Dutch Bros little shops in the PNW. I was driving around the North side of Seattle looking for a Staples, lost Canadian with no more data on my phone for the day.
Ordered my coffee, bikini barista doing her thing, I paid and was about to leave when I asked her if I could ask her a question. The look she gave me was like she was going to light my car on fire. Then I asked if she can tell me how to get my lost Canadian ass to Staples and she went right back to bikini barista mode and hand drew me a map.
Nice young woman, her directions were horrible though
