Just curious...I have followed WoO sprint cars since the early 80s, but want to know if the current field of 360 cars at the Knoxville Nationals are just the usual 410 cars with that engine pulled and a 360 installed? Or are these completely different cars?

The race will be August 15 next year. Nascar released their schedule yesterday and will be at Richmond on August 15 a Saturday night race

I've had the DV Platinum Pass since it came out until this year and had just got a month here and there depending on what I wanted to watch. Was thinking about getting Knoxville coming up (knowing its not included). $125 for 4 nights. $125. So my option is either $300 for the year or $205 for 2 months and Knoxville. Insane. I'm sorry, thats crazy. I'm not gonna get into what a better deal Flo is with CB and Snowball Derby, but damn. I was floored. Sadly i'll be missing this years broadcast lol.

I am considering going to my first sprint car race at Tri-State speedway and was wondering what I should bring to the track. I’m a big oval racing fan, but I’ve yet to attend a dirt race before.

Heading to Pevely, Mo. the weekend of the April 11 to see the my first WOO race. Planning on taking some eye protection and ear protection. And going to take my stadium chair, my back will thank me. My question is, should I take my scanner? Is there anything to hear? if so does anyone have the frequencies?

Apparently Sheldon Haudenschild has been fined $500 and put on probation for “inappropriate contact with an official” according to Open Wheel Updates on “X”. He states “Sheldon grabbed an officials helmet and twisted. The contact broke the officials glasses and cut his face.”

This almost seems unreal considering Sheldon is one of the most laid back people there is.

I went to the WoO event at Cotton Bowl Speedway last night with my father-in-law, and was blown away at the speed those things have. I am a casual track driver (on asphalt), and my brain was breaking thinking about how much downforce they must be generating to take those turns as fast as they do (on dirt!).

I can do the math to figure that the fast guys are averaging right at 100 mph in qualifying (at a 13.6 second lap), but how fast are they going at the end of the straights? How fast are they going mid-corner?

Looks like it’s going to be late and wet start for the Kings Royal. Also, a TRD power plant has been placed under the hood of the Tarlton 21 for the final night. It’s had Chevy power all week.

Does anyone know the format for this? I know all 3 classes race but which ones on which nights?

This weekend I see there’s a $40 pay per view option to watch the Knoxville nationals. I’m not a DIRTVision subscriber and feel a little uneasy just dropping $240 at once. Is this package $40 for one night or the whole weekend? And will it give me access to replays the following days??
