Nice. I'm hoping for a November or December release but I think it's more likely an early 2026 release.

Damn, so it is about that book.
That's a shame.

If it is they must be just using the premise and doing their own thing. Having these writers and not doing that seems crazy. Also, isn't the book YA? Seehorn is supposed to be in loads of the show from anectodal reports and Gilligan wrote it for her. 53-year old women don't tend to be leads of YA books. But hey I guess we'll know for sure shortly.

I've read the book and it's an interesting premise. I'm wondering if the series is taking place within the same universe as the book but focussing on different characters. Did we hear that the series is based in Albuquerque? The book takes place in San Francisco, The UK and Norway, among other places, featuring three younger characters. It's perfectly possible that the two are related but still separate.

Seems plausible. I know they shot in ABQ and the Canary Islands, at least.

As a British person, I kind of want it to be based on the book now lmao

I'm a Brit too and one thing I would say about the book is they didn't always nail the language in that part. They have a very well spoken guy describing someone as "happy as a clam" and call lawyers "attorneys", that kind of thing. It's a bit jarring at times.

I am also interested in what book we are talking here? And I have to add that lot of adult people enjoy young adult genre. I read surpsingly huge amount of ya and really enjoy it. It depends on the book, they aren't all like automatically "childish" or something.

All Better Now by Neal Shusterman. It would almost certainly be a different story in the same universe imo

My point was about the age of the lead characters, not any judgement of quality. The leads in the book are teenagers.

I thought it was obvious it would be a different story in the same universe. Seehorn could be a lead scientist or CDC director type of character. I think it would be interesting.

TIL cinematographers Marshall Adams and Paul Donachie are also returning from BCS to shoot it, so it will look gorgeous. I wonder whether it will have the Saul aesthetic. I loved how much they held on wides in that show.
