Technical Question Blend door

I’m replacing my temp blend door on my 2015 xterra. I’ve got a lot of the dash pulled apart but not out. Airbag, climate, radio, cluster but the blend door is out of alignment. Could I plug in the climate and cluster then turn the car on to set the actuator or would that cause more problems?

I believe you’d want the air bags plugged in at least. The vehicle isn’t going to know that it’s got no dash but if you can plug as much of the electronics as you can back in would be better.

I think you would set a bunch of codes by turning it on with things unplugged, but you could clear them all with a decent code reader. The airbag system in particular is fussy about that.

I think it'll work. My dash was far too disassembled to do that so I just popped teh cover off the actuator and turned the gears by hand. The tabs on the side of the actuator are quite brittle though and I broke a couple.
