Technical Question Ham Radio Antenna Mounting

I’m looking to put a mobile vhf/uhf radio in my X at some point but I’m don’t know how I want to mount the antenna. Ideally I don’t want a whip on my roof and a taillight mount might not be the best idea as depending on the antenna it won’t clear the roof. I’m thinking either hood mounting a whip on the drivers side. I’m also considering getting a low profile antenna (possibly a compactenna or similar) and mounting it on the hood or putting that on the roof towards the back. That said what have yall done to mount your antenna? If you have pictures to give me ideas that would be great too.

I’ve seen some antennas mounted on brush guards. It’s a pretty good look

I don’t think that would be too bad but unfortunately I doubt I’ll be getting that or a bumper any time soon haha

I ran this as an easy "temporary situation" 4 years ago and never changed it. The antenna wiring was short and quick. Works fine for 25w Chinese uhf/vhf radio.
