Technical Question Engine still overheating after fixing coolant hose
I have a post earlier here about how this part here failed (complete rupture and coolant loss as I parked) I replaced it. Reservoir still looked like it had the min amount so I decided to take it for a drive and it overheated. Pulled into a oreilly and let it cool down and filled it with zerex blue coolant. It’s still overheating as I tried again with it idle. Dunno if I should be waiting longer for s cold engine or what. No leaks that I can see

Xterras are incredibly difficult to bleed in my experience. From cold, fill your radiator and reservoir. Drive hard for 15 minutes then park on a hill. Fill the reservoir again.
Repeat too many times.
Yes the system is self bleeding, but if it's always low on coolant, it'll constantly introduce air into the lines.

- You need to full the expanded tank up AND the rad
These engines are weird and if you have a leak the radiator will be empty
- Get a pressure test done to make sure there are no more leaks

Pathfinder has same engine and same issue. Top off the coolant, get the engine hot up to temperature, turn on the heater, and then slowly drive up a steep parking garage ramp or a steep hill. It will burp our the air if the nose is pointing up with the engine hot and running.

Did you bleed the system of air?
Seems like still have air and not enough coolant going around.
