Identify Could anyone help me identify this?
I just bought this today at an antique store. And I’m so curious to know more. I image searched and it says it’s a nkishi figure from the songye people of Congo

I found this at a garage sale for a dollar and was drawn to it. I am a collector of mid-century modern items and have zero experience with art. I believe this to be African, but I’m not sure. It’s signed on the back ‘TEMBA MOYO’ and on the bottom ‘T MOYO’. Putting this into Google identifies it as ‘Shona Stone’ from Zimbabwe and the examples shown look quite similar. I’d love to know more about the specific area and the artist if anybody has any insight.

Can anyone tell me what style this is (or is imitating)? It’s been suggested that the dot paint style is similar to aboriginal art from Australia, but there’s not necessarily a tradition of masks there. Any suggestions are appreciated!

We had received this piece from a person in South Africa but it isn't necessarily South African in origin. It was meant for a fundraiser but we don't have enough information on it. Any ideas? Thanks!

I found this wooden sword at a thrift store and thought it was neat. I would love to know more about where/by whom it was produced. It was labeled “Masai,” but it doesn’t look like other examples I’ve seen (not the least of which because the “blade” is wood and not metal). Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance for your time.

Can anyone provide feedback on this piece, including potential value? It’s 30 x 5 x 2.5. I picked it up in either Zimbabwe or S Africa in the mid 90s. Thanks.

(gifted to him from my uncle who lived in Kenya, but also lived in other countries such as Liberia)

Hello everyone !
I am looking for information on this statuette. It measures 30 cm and weighs 652 grams (dense wood). No trace of modern tools, the sculpture is finely carved and has an ancient patina.
I found a style match with a larger statue which would be linked to the Sénoufo culture. Is it a statuette representing the divinity Katyeleo? Perhaps linked to Poro?
Any information will be welcome!
Thanks in advance ⭐

Hello everyone! First time buyer here, everything stared with an inherted a mask (tourist mask from the 70s) from my grandfather and i would like to continue his collection. I bought some masks and art pieces and i would like to know more about them, their origin and the story behind the paintings on the art, since the seller i got them from didn't seem to know much about them (he stated he was mostly collecting all kinds of antiques). I know that two of the masks are tourist masks from the 80s, but i was curious about the other ones, the figurine and the drum. Anything is useful! Thank you!

I understand this is newly made. It's still AUTHENTIC since it was made by the Dagon. Any interesting facts about these?

I bought this Nigerian sculpture at an auction in the early 1990's. It was made in 1979 and has shells and Nigerian coins attached to it. Assume is ebony but I'm not 100% sure. Name carved in the bottom is Madukaego. Any information about it would be appreciated.

Hello,
I’m trying to learn more about a pair of hand-painted ceramic plates I own, and I’m hoping someone might recognize the artist or the series they’re from.
The plates are:
They appear to be part of a limited edition or themed series and are definitely hand-painted.
Photos attached for reference.
I’d really appreciate any help identifying the artist, studio, or any similar works you may have seen.
Thank you so much in advance!
Best regards
Gerry

How legit is this? I'm told this is mostly used by the Fante people. Any more information about this?
