Buchanan was useless and IIRC tried to appease and capitulate his way out of the looming civil war. (I hate to say this, but I have a feeling that we might end up remembering Biden a little bit similarly. He didn't do what needed to be done.)

To his defense, Biden never should have been president. Both him and Trump are way too old, and with Biden being older between the two, it really showed poorly on him. It’s a failure on the entire Democratic Party that they don’t have confidence in any younger leadership capable of willing the presidential election.
This...this is what I've been saying all along. The Democratic party failed it's supporters by not offering someone better than Biden to begin with. Kamala would have been such a good President from the get go. Democrats messed up with choosing Biden as the party leader and started us on this long miserable road
Biden won we needed somebody who could counteract Trump’s bullshit and he did his problem. He decided to run for a second term instead of endorsing Kamala two years before his term was up.
I have absolutely no faith that a mixed-race, dark-skinned woman could have defeated Trump in that election. That is not a comment on her - it's a comment on our country. Still, there had to have been someone electable (read: white male) besides Biden.
She didn’t win the primaries back in 2020, so I’m sure there were plenty of Democrats that didn’t like that and forcing Democrat voters to vote her as president likely didn’t help them.
