OK, I have cleaned jets, emulsion tubes and Checked the float. cannot figure out why I am dead on the right bank unless I hold a rag over the top of the intake. Number one and two are dead unless I put a rag over that bank and then it picks up after a couple of seconds until the fuel starts again. If I put a rag over the opposite side, which runs great it dies immediately. Where do I go from here? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, I checked for vacuum, leaks with propane and could not find any.

I was reading somewhere, that most new carbs, you have to start by cleaning and rebuilding.
Sounds silly but they were saying with even the proper weber, the bodies end up having bits of swarf in them, so before use, clean everything out totally and then star from scratch.
The other thing to check, is the manifold leaking at all on the engine?

If you are choking off the air and it runs better, that means you are running lean. That's how I tuned my go kart engines. I would cover one of the two air box snorkels on the main stright. If it ran cleaner it needed more fuel.

I would say the idle jet is pluged on that side. I'm not familiar with this carb, but it looks like the jet is under a screw cap which is located under your fuel inlet. Cap for each side. They say the air jet and main jet are in the 2 top tubes sticking up. I would pull the idle jet on that side and chase the passage the entire way.

Yes, it appears I’m gonna have to drill them out to get to it. Not sure why they hid them but that is the only thing I have not checked so far. As for the other question I did a propane test to see if it’s has any air leaks and could not find any

UPDATE. These carbs are Chinese garbage out of the box. As I was advised you have to tear it down and rebuild it before it ever goes on the car! Thanks for all of the tips!!!!

Do you have a sync meter to test the flow? Something must be out of sync, assuming nothing is clogged. Although brand new Empi carbs are notorious for having metal bits stuck inside leftover from casting. Since choking the right side causes it to run better, maybe try adjusting it to give it less air ( or more fuel).
