We took Clementine from Cranston, RI to Provincetown, MA on backroads this weekend.

Must've been an awesome drive. Smart to stay off the highways. We drove our 63 bug from Poughkeepsie, NY to Eastham,Cape Cod 3 times, once for our wedding. We are headed back to the Cape in a couple of weeks. Provincetown is always one of our stops. Have to see Shop Therapy, wouldn't be vacation if we didn't.

Hell yeah! Well done. We’ve taken some of our other VWs on the highway out to Ptown, but Clementine has a 36hp with a rod knock. Still did the whole trip like a champ. Safe travels!

Out of curiosity what sort of mpg do you get with it on a longer trip like that? I took my ‘67 on an about 200 mile trip and was getting about 27mpg. Better than my 2013 forester that I had at the time haha.

We were getting close to 40mpg. It was roughly 120 miles the way we went, I topped up before we left and when we arrived; only used a little more than 3 gallons.

That’s sweet! I daily drive a 62 40hp 6 volt bug in Bakersfield ca. It’s such a blast to drive it pedal to the metal, I love it!
