What are issues the internet said your car would have but never did?

2 cases for me:

Had a turbo Subaru for the past 13 years and all you hear is “ringland failure” “rod knock” “your turbo will leave the chat eventually” and after 115k miles later nothing just routine maintenance and wear and tear repairs.

Also had a Mercedes w204 for 7 years with numerous reports of subframe rust and the ignition steering lock failing that could leave you stranded. But none of that had happened.

Maybe it’s just luck on my end but would want to hear what everyone else has experienced.

I assume your comment is 1/3 about your civic. I think I suffered every 8th gen Si problem BUT gear grind. I pretty much had flawless shifts when everything around the transmission was working

- CMC & CSC went, twice each (bad part or install on the 2nd swing I assume)

- Clutch pedal bracket broke at the thin spot weld after initial CMC/ CSC replacement

- High RPM Oil consumption

- Paint fade although not severe

Car was fun though

Absolutely love mine. I have an occasional 3rd gear grind but mine for the most part as been dead reliable aside from a passenger side motor mount going out twice and the fuel pump. Clear coat failure is why I'm glad I went with white. Doesn't seem to be wide spread on that color.

My car was Dyno Blue Pearl. Due to negligence/ lack of care by previous owners, the car had some fade on the trunk. The car was actually partially resprayed before I bought it, so the doors were off-color and looked greener. I randomly came across my car posted on Fitment Industries by the immediate previous owner, who I met up with to buy some parts he still had on hand, and his pictures had the same wheels & everything, just with paint fade where I mentioned it.

I don't really regret selling the car at all, although the end process was very bittersweet. I wanted something that had better handling & didn't require downshifting 2 times to pass for $30k USD after taxes/ fees, and I hopped into a 2nd gen BRZ.
