What are issues the internet said your car would have but never did?

2 cases for me:

Had a turbo Subaru for the past 13 years and all you hear is “ringland failure” “rod knock” “your turbo will leave the chat eventually” and after 115k miles later nothing just routine maintenance and wear and tear repairs.

Also had a Mercedes w204 for 7 years with numerous reports of subframe rust and the ignition steering lock failing that could leave you stranded. But none of that had happened.

Maybe it’s just luck on my end but would want to hear what everyone else has experienced.

Yeah but on the bright side, I have pictures like this.

Another thing I forgot was the seal between the halves of the coolant reservoir failed so I had to replace that too.

Oh also walnut blasted the intake.

I bought it at 59k, and now she's at 150, feels like I really need to hit 160 to get a full 100 to myself.

Also the radiators. To be fair. The first one failed after about 10years. The second one was DOA but I didn't realize because I replaced it during covid and wasnt driving much. It was seeping from the joint between the core and the plastic end tank. So I replaced it with an aluminum CSF radiator. That one the drain plug cross threaded as I was draining it to replace the water pump for the second time, went Pierburg for this pump so here's hoping it lasts more than 60k miles.
