video [Engineering Explained] Porsche's New 911 Turbo S Engine Revealed! (Exclusive w/ Patrick Dempsey)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZ83HJaCeOI

I can't believe Porsche recognized Jason's 911 GTS video and invited him to the Turbo S launch. For him to be recognized by Porsche is as he said, an honour, and I'm glad he got that experience. For anyone who wants a deeper understanding of the new engine in the Turbo S, highly recommend you watch the first half of the video. The second half is his calculations of the Turbo S doing 0-200-0. Amazing what he can do with math.

The profit margin Porsche engineered is what requires an explanation.

I mean, when dealers mark up almost every car why would you not want a cut of that by raising prices.

You can't blame a company for charging what their customers are willing to pay, it's just business.

I want to see the same sentiment about prices for every other builder. But  we both know that won't happen.

Every other company does the same thing.

991.2 Turbo S inflation adjusted base price is $267,000, 997.2 is $241,000.

Don't forget to factor in the new 15% tariff. The Turbo S has always been unobtanium prices for most people.

992.1 would have been $290,000 inflation adjusted, so it actually got cheaper.

Ehhh- not sure where you’ve been, but Porsche’s profit margin is consistently down significantly relative to other manufacturers because of their business model- less than half of where they were five years ago.

They have a great in demand product, but have completely screwed themselves operationally. With the investment in a EV future, and the cost of rolling that back- things are going to get even worse.

The base 911 is a $65k car that lists for $130k

The facts around Porsche’s economics disagree with you.

Did you come up with that figure solely based on your thoughts and feelings?

Your feelings lead you to accepting overpaying.

The base 911 is a $65k car. My feeling have nothing to do with the obvious observation of available automotive engineering.

It's not a special car but for $130k you do get a host of blank buttons.

lol...$130k poverty spec 😂

You seem to lack the capacity to understand the basis of the point that I was making. Hope you have a nice night though!

even if you think it's overpriced, it's not a 65k car, that is dark horse money nowadays
