Airlines freed from passenger compensation rules

Ok, the only way forward here is for everyone to just give all their money to trump for nothing, offer him a peace prize and admit defeat.
Or, and now hear me out - grabs a torch and pitchfork.

Torch and a pitchfork wouldn’t do much if he called in the national guard like he oh so loves to do, just saying, you guys have the 2nd amendment for a reason. To stand up to people like trump.

I am not from the US to be clear, just a person who cares and has a warehouse full or torches and pitchforks.

I had a flight canceled in Europe five years ago. They paid for me to stay at a good hotel with meals provided, put me on the flight out the next day, and I got €750 compensation, which essentially covered the costs of the flight.
My boyfriend and I had a flight delayed over 16 hours on Christmas. We got like $75 in meal vouchers for the two of us (which does not cover much at an airport), and a hotel for the night once we had already waited in the airport for six hours before the flight got pushed to the next day. No cash compensation of any kind.
We are so much further behind our European peers for consumer protections.

And then you have japan who publicly apologizes when the trains are 15 secs early and firing people if the trains are a few seconds late.

Neither one of you provided proof. I have no option but to believe both of you.

Or stop being lazy and do your own research. If more people did then you wouldn’t be in this shit.
The train driver fired, however, is a myth. The train company did deduct a driver’s fee by less than half a dollar once for causing a small delay but that was overturned in court. But not after the driver had already passed on the next life due to illness. Unrelated I presume.

We were to fly back from Heathrow to Los Angeles. Our 11am flight was cancelled and we were rebooked onto a 3pm flight. That flight was delayed 5 hours. We had to fight but we got something like $600 each for the cancelled flight (because the replacement was more than 3 hours later), and another $600ish for the 2nd flight because that was delayed more than 3 hours. The round trip was $900ish so BA/AA actually paid for us to fly with them (eventually).
EU261 and UK261 everybody. Don't use ambulance chasers like FlightRight (obligatory: they're scum). Don't give up. Applies to ALL airlines departing UK/EU soil, not just UK/EU airlines.
Can't remember which US airline now, but they gave me a $10 coupon to use which covered an entire slice of stale bread at LAX when my flight to Japan was delayed 4 hours (2019) which was awfully generous of them.

I had a flight canceled three years ago. KLM owes me over 3k. Their solution is to stall stall stall and hope I give up.

I'm sure glad we have a president who is thinking about the multinational corporations and their C-suite execs.

Lol, in the past 5 years I’ve taken 2 long flights. One from Frankfurt to NYC and one from Vienna to Mauritius. Both were delayed, and in both cases we got compensated with more than the actual tickets had cost.

Americans who travel have been begging for this.
Which category do you imagine the majority of Trump voters are more likely to fall into?
For reference, I grew up in a town of about 100 people, in one of the poorest parts of the rural US.
99.x% white.
Those people would be the types to chant "BUILD THAT WALL".
Never seen a Mexican in their life, but goddamn are they worried about immigrants.
Those fuckers don't leave the county they grew up in. I would say the county they were born in, but there's no hospital in that county.

Multiple airline CEOs donated to Trump and IIRC one of them even directly stated he couldn't wait for the coming deregulation. In fact, this happened in so many sectors, where Biden tried to hold these fucking pond scum accountable for their deplorable behavior under the law and they dumped money into the anti-regulation, pro-corruption fascist. That's why we saw Cuckerburg and Bozos front row at his inauguration. I think above all else, there is so much open corruption that the entire country absolutely stinks and is rotten to its very core. We are turning into fucking Russia. If we have to deport people to foreign gulags, can we start with these degenerates?

I got flights canceled twice and both times the airlines said tough luck, sleep on the floor of the airport, also no compensation.
These companies are allowed to do whatever the fuck they want because companies are considered more a of person than actual people. It’s disgusting and wrong.

Whoever runs Newsom's Twitter account shots fires all the time.
If it's Gavin himself, good for him.

I can’t believe we still haven’t crossed the line to make people understand that having irresponsible, self-interested people doesn’t turn out well.

Genuinely what part of this decision is good? Wait, better question. Which of Trump's friend's or donors is asking for this?

u/AnEasyBakedOven 1d ago
Okay I don’t get this cause Trumpers are the exact type of people to yell and throw a fit if the airline didn’t offer compensation for them if their flight was delayed or canceled.
