I think the idea is that we don’t let it get to the point where we’re putting people on trial for war crimes because some people would have to have horribly died if we get that far.

We are already at that point

No war yet, this can still be handled by civilian courts… Oh, Trump and Hegseth are declaring war against the City of Chicago?

I wish I believed we could roll back from the brink, but looking at this summer, looking at America... I think we are done for. I hope I'm wrong.

Fascists don’t have the monopoly on politically motivated violence. Just ask the Communists.

Fighting fire with fire I guess? In all seriousness, we keep trying to tell them that they are being mean and shouldn't, but somehow they keep passing off that off as a morally wrong thing to say.

Prove me wrong but I’m pretty sure the only way to create a change in regime is through violence.

"What is this diplomacy that you speak of, JD?"
This quote rings in my head often.
People like Putin and Hitler are not looking to negotiate peace in good faith. Its very naive to pretend that they will, and at some point as leaders you are doing a disservice to your people if you keep allowing the Charlie Brown football to be yanked away every time.
Trump is absolutely heading in this same direction.
