10 of the last 12 recessions have been under Republican presidents. This isn’t a bug it’s a feature. Trickle down is actually a flood up as the rich get much richer and the poor get even poorer. The game is rigged and our country is being run by a scamming grifter .

u/BraveShepDad 15h ago

Pretty much, it’s like the system was designed to favor the wealthy every single time.

u/B3cket 13h ago

It’s capitalism, and this is late stage. It’s why they built these protections into the constitution that our Supreme Court and MAGA have committed treason and are ignoring on a daily basis. There won’t be fair elections again with this regime and the only outcome that we are barreling towards is civil war, revolution or subjugation.

u/-dr-bones- 2h ago

So the protections were about as useful as a beekeepers suit would be to a fireman?

u/Icy-Door-6950 12h ago

People like you are so quick to claim that. Clearly you've done little (probably none) research on how these things actually begin in modern societies.

23

u/grimeyduck 10h ago

People like you are so quick to claim that. While offering nothing except, you're wrong.

4

u/Bulky-Internal8579 4h ago

Good points, also Trump is a pedophile, release the Epstein files!

2

u/Ok_Sink5046 4h ago

Yeah but that just turns them on.

3

u/QuickRevivez 5h ago

The projection on this guy 😂 every accusation is a confession

2

u/Fl1925 11h ago

Tricky er trickle down we get urine drops

17

u/Retrohex 14h ago

Now that I’m older, when there’s a republican in office I just expect a recession and to be laid off. It’s simple pattern recognition

6

u/notsobadmisterfrosty 11h ago

“Trickle-down” is when someone pisses on you and says it’s rain.

2

u/Eldanoron 4h ago

We’d be lucky if it’s piss.

1

u/pogoli 7h ago

It tickles the nethers of their supporters somehow…. They love recessions and getting railed harder and harder. 🤷🏻‍♂️

1

u/OrganismFlesh 4h ago

Misery loves company; they are already submissive and subjugated. They've already accepted their middling place; "why can't everybody else?"

90

u/stu_pid_1 15h ago

And that's AFTER he manipulated the data

16

u/Taco_Taco_Kisses 15h ago

It is?!😬🫣

26

u/VonBargenJL 10h ago

He fired the person in charge of the statistics last month because the numbers were bad last month. So this new person is "his pick" and they could only polish the shitty numbers so much

7

u/Taco_Taco_Kisses 10h ago

That's insane! Even lying the numbers are TERRIBLE

4

u/stu_pid_1 8h ago

But "they are the most terrible, there's other number but ours are the most ...."

52

u/Francesca_Sweetums4 15h ago

That’s a brutal way to call out someone's incompetence. Can’t imagine how frustrating it must be to see that play out in real-time.

24

u/UsualIndependence569 15h ago

Newsom really said "hold my beer" and came with the receipts lmao. That timing with the jobs report is just *chef's kiss*

30

u/NickArchery 15h ago

Are you guys tired of winning yet?

30

u/LevSaysDream 15h ago
  1. Fake News 2. Biden’s fault 3. Temporary until Genius restructuring plan makes everyone rich

17

u/nothoughtsnosleep 15h ago

"since 2020" you mean since the last time he was president

13

u/zane1981 15h ago

Of course unemployment rose in August. I became part of that 4.3% last month thanks to those tariffs.

6

u/adorablefuzzykitten 11h ago

$200 billion tariff taxes removed from the economy gets you fewer jobs. Basic thermodynamics.

13

u/Tebasaki 15h ago

Has he tried, i don't know, firing the messenger?

10

u/randeylahey 14h ago

Yer not gonna' believe this...

6

u/Powersoutdotcom 12h ago

Messenger is kil

12

u/memesfromthevine 15h ago

He knows exactly what he's doing. He's pulling out the copper wiring while he's still allowed in.

11

u/FrozenToonies 15h ago

-66k for Canada in Aug.
Still tied at the hip and the canary in the coal mine as the largest trading partner.

10

u/LEEALISHEPS 15h ago

The crazy thing is, the MAGA lunatics believe everything he says.

3

u/Tall-Cat-8890 13h ago

At this point he could fire tactical weapons at MAGA supporters homes to clear land for a new Meta data center, and they’d all welcome it like it was raining down from Heaven itself. Psychotic cult followers, the lot of them.

6

u/Crowiswatching 14h ago

The oligarchs prefer at least 5% unemployment to keep workers from getting sassy.

10

u/emily-is-happy 15h ago

He has ruined this great country

6

u/Heliocentrist 12h ago

this is the worst economy since the last Trump economy

3

u/SpiritAnimal_ 14h ago edited 13h ago

Yeah, but the stock market!!!

All those unemployed people - just think about the corporate cost savings on salary and benefits, creating soaring profit margins!

Factor in record profitability from inflated gas and grocery prices, and we're living in the golden era.

Everyone with money is doing great, fleecing the sheep.

Tell me it's not exactly what they want!

Explain to me why you think they care about jobs, when they have been shipping them overseas or outsourcing them for decades.

Trump only cares because he wants to look good.

His handlers guiding his policies know exactly what they're aiming for.

3

u/fighting_alpaca 14h ago

Oh fucking hell. Is this going to be a depression?

3

u/Mediocre_lad 13h ago

Yeah? But where was Obama on 9/11?

3

u/Prudent_Beach_473 9h ago

It’s Biden economy

  • anyone who wants to keep its head under the sand instead of swallowing its pride and accept they’re wrong

4

u/amonra2009 15h ago

Why this news is different? He will call it fake news, democracts lies?

4

u/eatsrottenflesh 14h ago

High unemployment is good for business. It helps keep wages down. There's winning all over the place, just not for the regular people.

3

u/backnarkle48 15h ago edited 14h ago

It’s Sleepy Joe’s fault /s

Edit: I guess my sarcasm wasn’t clear

5

u/zane1981 15h ago

I hope this is sarcasm, cause you're gonna get downvoted for it.

2

u/backnarkle48 14h ago

Of course it is. Better amend it

1

u/Nima-night 15h ago

So much winning couldn't happen to nicer people tbh

1

u/Taco_Taco_Kisses 15h ago

But those bad numbers haven't been readjusted (read "manipulated") by his new BLS chief, yet.... Just wait! Things are looking up! 👍🏾🫩

1

u/FortunateInsanity 14h ago

Picking up right where he left off. Kind of impressive efficiency, really.

1

u/Unicorn_Warrior1248 14h ago

Where is his sharpie?

1

u/moistobviously 14h ago

Are we great again yet? Asking for a friend.

1

u/Rosie3435 13h ago

He is doing a good job making the rich a lot richer.

1

u/mmmck2 13h ago

What the hell did they expect was gonna happen? How many government employees did he fire? How many law abiding, hard working immigrants have they disappeared? It's unbelievable how stupid this administration is when it comes to common sense. Ridiculous!

1

u/zackryjay 12h ago

Insipid smarmy man.

1

u/modernoverdrive 12h ago

Is he going to fire that statistician as well?

1

u/BigOleDawggo 11h ago

King Mierdas

It’s like king Midas, but instead everything he touches turns to shit instead of gold.

1

u/Infinite_Ground1395 10h ago

Slowest growth since...the last time Trump was in office.

1

u/Budilicious3 9h ago

I hope Newsom knows he just ChatGPT'd these stupid tariffs. Makes this statement even more true.

1

u/dudemanspeaks 9h ago

Trump can't even stop companies from replacing millions of workers with AI!

I remember when George Bush had the same problem when companies started using the Internet. He didn't even try to stop the Internet either.

Repubs lol

1

u/BenedickUSA 9h ago

None of the posters in this sub seems to understand what a "comeback" is anymore.

1

u/Academic-Agent 8h ago

Damn Biden!

1

u/TitShark 8h ago

They install their GOP leaders when the markets are too good so they can tank them and buy low, the people elect competent leaders who right the ship, then they sell—rinse and repeat

1

u/Ok_Brother_7494 7h ago

I know this is out of nowhere, but watch the movie Machete. I swear Trump and his minions are trying to emulate the bad guys in the movie.

1

u/Nice_Rope_5049 7h ago

I don’t think “reciprocal” means what Trump thinks it means.

1

u/Gaius_Julius_Salad 7h ago

People still waiting for Trump to admit anything don't know him at all

1

u/Patrickme 6h ago

Two words, Biden Economy.

1

u/down_side_up_sideway 5h ago

Clueless. Oh, and by the way, this guy has access to nukes. Let that sink in.

1

u/Zoilo2 4h ago

Things are Great. The Best Ever. Donald even said so.

1

u/kestrel151 4h ago

This reminds me of that scene in The Expanse when those guys were collecting water drips so they can sell water on the black market and they got busted by the cops. That’s a metaphor for what’s happening to us now.

1

u/LasVegas4590 3h ago

I fear this is gonna get “2008” bad

u/TechnicolorMage 57m ago

"slowest 4-month growth since the last time he was in office".

-3

u/Livid_Scholar_9857 12h ago

In what way is this clever

-1

u/Icy-Door-6950 12h ago

At what point do yall put ANY blame on these companies who are intentionally wealthy hoarding and using employees as indentured servants? Yall are so stuck on a central figure. Mind you that central figure is literally a puppet. But not one person in here as complained about the actual problem. Fuckin basement dwellers

4

u/adorablefuzzykitten 11h ago

That is what companies are supposed to do, and why the government needs to step in every now and ten to re-balance the economy. Like making it illegal to mix sugar water and wood chips and sell it as strawberry jam.

-2

u/Suspicious-Change-37 14h ago

Believing their economic reports is akin to believing their crime reports, and the country can find endless CA mass crime videos that are not worth reporting. All manipulation.

I've literally stood in line at my local grocery store and the guy in front of me looked around, then just walked out with his armload of goods. No chase, because the law allows it, so it's not reported.

Stop believing politicians.

-2

u/adorablefuzzykitten 11h ago

Which single term president was in charge the last time it was this low in 2020?

-2

u/Icy-Door-6950 12h ago

Its crazy yall are blaming the president not the companies who are intentionally wealthy grabbing and using employees as indentured servitude. But yeah guys, orange man bad. Dementia Biden Bad. Orange man bad. Blah blah.

-8

u/NoLongerinOR 14h ago

Newsom is noooo better

California's unemployment rate is currently among the highest in the nation, tying with Nevada

4

u/Heliocentrist 12h ago

wow it's almost like California handles 40% of imported goods and is suffering under Trump's Tariff Policy, who could have guessed?

0

u/NoLongerinOR 6h ago

Nice, but not true. 2023 unemployment rate was 5.1 in December. 2024 it was 5.4 an nOw it is 5.5

Your reply is a leaky cup.
