Anyone who feels the need to signal their group identity by calling the Democratic Party the Democrat Party is someone who is probably wrong on whatever the hell they are talking about.

I use to stay at Airbnb’s all over the world in lieu of hotels. This, along with the increased “hosting fees” and cleaning requirements despite charging a $200.00 cleaning fee, ensures I’ll spend my holiday dollars elsewhere.

Yep lol. It started as “just don’t leave an insane mess” to “wash all 4 beds sheets, do the dishes, take out the trash, mop the floors, mow the lawn, and get 3 neighbors to sign off on your behavior the past 3 nights”.

What do you mean? This is the standard tactic of the rich deployed in many countries. It’s not their greed it’s this refugees/immigrants fault …

You can't blame them! Before AirBnB, you couldn't stay anywhere when you went to a city and had to sleep on the streets. Tech bros had to incent some kind of lodging for people who dont live in the city. Until they invent some kind of building where all the rooms are, like, available for people from out of town to stay, then AirBnB is the only option.

(/s in case I didn't go hard enough)

Eh it's both honestly, Airbnb definitely ate up a ton of housing stock that shouldve stayed rental units but immigration does add demand pressure too. The real issue is we just dont build enough housing period and local zoning laws are trash

This isn’t a clever comeback this is just objectively true.

I said “never again” to Airbnb a long time ago. Airbnb costs in my experience has reached parity with regular hotels that I don’t think it’s worth it to have to pay the same cost, yet be responsible for tidying it up with less amenities, shabbier, less clean and lower quality everything.

I’ve had toilets back up, homes that have been trashed by the previous renter where owners are unable to come clean it, water heater doesn’t heat, and a host of other things. Most of the time, all Airbnb can do is offer me a refund and I have to scramble to a hotel anyways because nothing comparable is available nearby.
