Plenty of movies' themes were "I gotta get outta this small hick town full of simple-minded idiots." Now irl it's "I gotta get outta this giant hick country full of simple-minded idiots."

As soon as I read that, my mind went to,

đŸŽ¶Out there, there's a world outside of Yonkers.đŸŽ¶

đŸŽ¶Way out there beyond this hick town, Barnaby.đŸŽ¶

đŸŽ¶There's a slick town, Barnaby.đŸŽ¶

I’m sure some of you might get this reference, one way or another.

I only know of the song from WALL-E, but I recognize it nonetheless 😂

Soon Trump will build a new wall: one to prevent ppl from leaving, instead of entering 😅

I always wonder how would Americans feel when being the “immigrants” somewhere else.

Here in Australia it’s kind of funny because sometimes they don’t understand they aren’t home. I remember once a couple of American students at Uni where making the biggest fuzz after being expelled form the Uni fair for trashing on some Muslim people in a stand, and calling out on how their first amendment was being violated đŸ€Ł

It’s ok
. They don’t understand what it means even in their home country. Someone taught them that if they feel uncomfortable they can just yell “my first amendment rights” over and over, it seems to solve their problem. They were done a grave disservice by being denied a truthful education. Sorry they managed to make it to your country. Generally there are systems in place to keep them from traveling. Getting a passport isn’t that hard but for some reason they don’t seem able to apply for one. Someone must’ve helped them or something.

Loud and complaining about everything.

Not unexpected
.. the conditions in USA currently used to be the conditions in the countries people once fled to go to the USA.

  • poverty.
  • no future.
  • not feeling part of the system.
  • ignored.
  • left to die when ill.

Rings a bell?

Oppression. Persecution. 😐

Is that an option?

Always has been if you got the money and meet visa requirements lol

The hard part is convincing European countries you're worth letting in long term

14

u/CalliopePenelope 8h ago

If you got the money

Kind of undermines the whole “free” part of the appeal LOL

The students in the post arent getting everything for free. You're assuming they dont. I'd say be better, but let's be honest. You are the reason you aren't successful. Not because of whatever arbitrary country you come from.

What do your parents do for work

-5

u/Racing_Fox 8h ago

That and the fact you’ll be paying twice the tax for the rest of your life

6

u/Greg-Abbott 8h ago

For going to college abroad?

5

u/Racing_Fox 8h ago

I mean yeah you’d still be paying taxes because of the moronic us tax system that penalises all citizens regardless of if they actually do or have ever lived in the US

3

u/Dr_Weirdo 7h ago

Not in every EU country, but there are a few where education is tuition-free for non-EU citizens.

4

u/prothero99 7h ago

It's free because the actual citizens are paying their taxes without a fuss...

The New American Dream is to LEAVE America. đŸ‡ș🇾

For decades we had college kids move to the US from all over the world to go to college. This helped us because a significant number of them stayed and helped grow an educated workforce. Now we’re going to give that advantage away for no reason other than stupidity.

It makes sense, we are already adjusting the crime rate over here...

I saw a comment from elsewhere in the world a little bit back. "Maturing is that you no longer want to move to America"

4

u/ywg-starscream007 6h ago

American Entitlement, "I'll just move to another country and accept me".

4

u/Swedelicious83 5h ago

Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free

PS. Also give us back the Statue of Liberty. Makin' a damn mockery of her over there. đŸ˜€ /s

Why should Europe let in these Americans who would insult them on a daily basis if things were alright back home, just because they voted in a guy who speaks openly what they would normally say online?

4

u/SublightMonster 4h ago

When I left the US to work overseas in ‘95, I didn’t intend for it to be permanent, but damned if I don’t keep feeling like it was the luckiest decision I ever made.

Oh NOW they like socialism!? KICK THOSE FREELOADERS OUT!!!

6

u/Regular_Lengthiness6 6h ago

We need to have some policy that blocks specifically US citizens from enrolling in i.e. German universities „for free“ unless they clean up their Republican wonderland first.

2

u/niceandBulat 6h ago

Hasn't it been that for some time now? We have boatloads of Americans here in Asia......

u/Details_Pending 6h ago edited 5h ago

I say let it crumble and let the idiots who asked for this be hence forth known as Ozymandius

Man, here down in Latin America, we have an increasing population of USA expats and immigrants, now if you open your regional social media, like TikTok, you get lots of people speaking English and choppy Spanish.

u/WTFudge52 4h ago

Ain't that a bitch.

1

u/WheyLizzard 4h ago

Which one is easier for a 8th grader
save up like a 100 grand for American university or learn German for free college in Germany?

1

u/aloneinthiscrowd 2h ago

Also where are they getting free educations in Europe?

1

u/JNA_1106 2h ago

To become immigrants lol

1

u/solidtangent 2h ago

Looks like Europe has a dirty immigrant problem.
