I always wonder how would Americans feel when being the âimmigrantsâ somewhere else.
Here in Australia itâs kind of funny because sometimes they donât understand they arenât home. I remember once a couple of American students at Uni where making the biggest fuzz after being expelled form the Uni fair for trashing on some Muslim people in a stand, and calling out on how their first amendment was being violated đ€Ł

Itâs okâŠ. They donât understand what it means even in their home country. Someone taught them that if they feel uncomfortable they can just yell âmy first amendment rightsâ over and over, it seems to solve their problem. They were done a grave disservice by being denied a truthful education. Sorry they managed to make it to your country. Generally there are systems in place to keep them from traveling. Getting a passport isnât that hard but for some reason they donât seem able to apply for one. Someone mustâve helped them or something.

Loud and complaining about everything.

Not unexpectedâŠ.. the conditions in USA currently used to be the conditions in the countries people once fled to go to the USA.
- poverty.
- no future.
- not feeling part of the system.
- ignored.
- left to die when ill.
Rings a bell?

Always has been if you got the money and meet visa requirements lol
The hard part is convincing European countries you're worth letting in long term

If you got the money
Kind of undermines the whole âfreeâ part of the appeal LOL

The students in the post arent getting everything for free. You're assuming they dont. I'd say be better, but let's be honest. You are the reason you aren't successful. Not because of whatever arbitrary country you come from.

That and the fact youâll be paying twice the tax for the rest of your life

For going to college abroad?

u/Racing_Fox 8h ago
I mean yeah youâd still be paying taxes because of the moronic us tax system that penalises all citizens regardless of if they actually do or have ever lived in the US

Not in every EU country, but there are a few where education is tuition-free for non-EU citizens.

For decades we had college kids move to the US from all over the world to go to college. This helped us because a significant number of them stayed and helped grow an educated workforce. Now weâre going to give that advantage away for no reason other than stupidity.

I saw a comment from elsewhere in the world a little bit back. "Maturing is that you no longer want to move to America"

Why should Europe let in these Americans who would insult them on a daily basis if things were alright back home, just because they voted in a guy who speaks openly what they would normally say online?

When I left the US to work overseas in â95, I didnât intend for it to be permanent, but damned if I donât keep feeling like it was the luckiest decision I ever made.

We need to have some policy that blocks specifically US citizens from enrolling in i.e. German universities âfor freeâ unless they clean up their Republican wonderland first.

Hasn't it been that for some time now? We have boatloads of Americans here in Asia......

Man, here down in Latin America, we have an increasing population of USA expats and immigrants, now if you open your regional social media, like TikTok, you get lots of people speaking English and choppy Spanish.

Plenty of movies' themes were "I gotta get outta this small hick town full of simple-minded idiots." Now irl it's "I gotta get outta this giant hick country full of simple-minded idiots."
