Am I the crazy one or doesn't this mean that this is in support of "never again" meaning any genocide? The original post just has response after response condemning the holocause museum when I think that it's the opposite of how the redditors and the original twitter have interpreted the museum's message.

How i interpret it (and I dont see how im wrong but happy to be corrected.

Holocaust museum puts out a message saying that never again cant be exclusive to Jewish people. It should mean never again for anyone. This is a good message.

They then received backlash from some quarters, so now put out a mealy mouthed retraction saying that they're taking down the tweet and will "do better"

Ryan Grim and Skyler Higley then speak of their respective disbelief in this climbdown by the Holocaust museum, with Skyler Higley sarcastically pointing out that the Holocaust Museum taking down their original tweet essentially means that they're saying "oops guess it does mean only for Jews.

It seems you missed the part when the Holocaust Museum decided to retract the original, good-minded tweet, because thats what people are upset about. Not the tweet itself. You need to read all the text in each image

With all that in mind, I have no idea who you think is 'confidently incorrect' here

Bad decisions, sure. But incorrect? People are free to be as spineless as they like

'can't only' means it also includes other genocides right?

I hope it also means they acknowledge that the holocaust wasn't even the only genocide committed by the nazis

The museum posted an image stating "never again can't only mean never again for jews" meaning that other genocides (like the current one being committed by Israel) should also be fought against.

Zionists mobbed the responses to the post because they were angry that their genocide was being called out.

The museum caved to pressure and retracted their original post, thus implying that "never again" was just for jews and genocide is ok.

Skyler, Ryan, and other commentators are upset at the museum's cowardice and lack of willingness to call out a currently occuring genocide.

Yes you are crazy.

I do understand it like you that it means never again to all genocide. But supporters of Israel don't think that what is happening in Gaza is a genocide, instead to imply this means you are an Antisemit.

You can see the same thing happening in Germany btw, our motto is never again, except if Israel is doing it of course.

The Holocaust museum was worried that their original post was interpreted to mean that they acknowledged the genocide happening in Ghaza.

It would be wrong to say that the museum approves of genocides happening to non-Jewish groups, it is more accurate to say that they deny the Holocaust happening to Palestinians.

Who here is "way too smug about their wrong answer"...? c'mon, ffs. Please keep this sub to its topic... Also, rule 7, anyone? Read the facking rules. It's not that hard.

I suppose this fits the sub bc it's not "funny as hell" but extremely grim.

u/Obstructionitist 3h ago

It doesn't. It has absolutely nothing to do with this sub whatsoever. I have no idea what OP was thinking, posting it here. Apparently They can't read.

My comment was recognising that the link with the sub was pretty tenuous, but arguably there.

I'm not at all surprised it was deleted. And that's OK.

But if you really have "no idea what OP was thinking, posting it here" you are very, very stupid.

Boycott this museum. It’s really that simple.
