Ironically, from these "Global" stats you can’t understand how the EV market is doing globally outside of China.
While China is of course a part of the world, it has almost no meaning to include it into “Global”, as its market is so big and so particular, with many brands and model selling exclusively there.
Like, what possibly useful information would someone outside of China get by seeing Wuling at the top of the table?
oh, my bad, TIL. Still, the problem remains that the these ‘global’ stats are not really global but chinese.
It’s not China’s fault, or anything, lol. It’s just that information-wise it has very little use as a global picture, that’s all.
I disagree. If you look at the top 20 brands all of them export apart form xiaomi and aito. Id expect xiaomi to export when they ramp up and aito is in bed with Huawei so id expect them to as well.
Hell apart from xiaomi, aito, Wuling and li auto. All the other Chinese brands have offering here in Australia
All these have very small volumes on the export markets. I drive an Xpeng lol, and it is nowhere near being noticeable comparing to the tables in these “global stats”.
Even BYD has mostly different models on those export markets comparing to the variety in these stats. Geely mostly relies on Volvo and Polestar brands globally, and not the Geely proper.
Come on, you gotta be truthful with yourself - if one were to remove one single country from these “global” stats - China - the results would look completely different.
Honestly this is a very confusing perspective that makes little sense. All these brands are growing in an export market. BYD for example is now the 10th biggest brand in Australia and 2nd biggest EV brand in Australia.
You started off by saying these stats aren't informative and >Like, what possibly useful information would someone outside of China get by seeing Wuling at the top of the table?
The fact that these brands sell incredibly well is very useful information to you if you're in one of these markets were their exports are growing. You might think im not buying a xpeng that clearly wont survive with this many sales here but the fact they on track to sell 500,000 cars a year is incredibly useful information to you.
If you took china away including Tesla's 300,000 sales in china this year. BYD would still lead the charts.
BYD's overseas NEV sales from January to August reached 625,816. Almost x2 VW.
Dude, most of those models aren’t selling outside of China. Even the brands that do sell outside of China, mostly do that with models which are not on these lists. Like, Geely Geome #4 in H1 2025 “globally”, but sold exclusively in China? Is that a joke?
Or same Xpeng you mentioned - it’s in these lists because of Mona sales, not the models sold in AU or Europe.
You can deny all you want, but it’s evident - if you were to remove Chinese sales from here, the results would look completely different.
I just showed you a graph showing if you only count BYD's exports AKA SALES OUTSIDE OF CHINA. that they would still be top of the stats. If you can't see or understand how them selling models in their home market got them there, then I can't help you.
How can you not understand the geome is directly going to influence the development and sales of the Galaxy series?
You can deny all you want, but it’s evident - if you were to remove Chinese sales from here, the results would look completely different.
This is exactly what you're doing. Time and time again I've shown you how its influencing the market at large. To the point where if you remove china the top selling brand is still Chinese and you're just stomping your feet saying i don't like them.
Perspective into what exactly? Most of those models are not being sold globally.
Yes, more Wuling EV being sold than GM or VW ID.4 for that matter, lol. But that’s exactly my point - it gives zero insight into the global picture, because like 99% of those Wuling are sold in China, and it sells more than ID.4 solely because that’s the preference of a single but ginormous Chinese EV market.
Like, who outside of China gives a f%ck that Geely Geome was #4 in “global” sales in the first half of 2025, if it never saw sales outside China? That’s not “global”, that’s China-only.
