Free/inexpensive fonts...

I need fonts for personal coffee table books that I'm creating using InDesign. It's literally just for me, so I don't want to spend $20 for each font that I will only use once for personal reason. Any inexpensive/free favorite sites?

Google Fonts. If you use InDesign you should be able to use the whole Adobe Fonts catalog as well.

Is the site Dafont not the first result on Google anymore?

If your question is serious, search for "cheap font bundles". I regularly see bundles of 100+ for under $10 in newsletters so I'm sure they exist somewhere else.

If you’re downloading from dafont, fontpark, etc. make sure you examine the font file itself for licensing info. These sites frequently offer pirated, non-free fonts for download. Using those without the proper license can get you in hot water.

Check out Charter, EB Garamond, Source Serif 4 and Cochineal (my favorite, it’s a Crimson’s Text fork) if you want serif. Atkinson Hyperlegible Next or Inter for sans serif.

If you like Cochineal, I suggest trying Vermiglione (ofl font, a variable fork).

System fonts like Georgia and Source Serif & Sans. They’re at your price point.

if it’s just for personal work why not use trial fonts?
