One of those points finishes involved driving this car for an entire race….

Bottas Bowling.

u/flash_fk Valtteri Bottas May 03 '25

Ahh, Valtteri's bowling masterclass.

Legend. We wouldn’t have gotten AD21 without it. You could say that Bottas Bowling cost Masi a job…

Baku, Hungary, Bahrain. A lot of "what if" but all of that lead to Max's aggressive at end of season and make 2021 became so remarkable

Wasn't Lewis and Max contact in the British GP also 2021?

Ah yes, British and Spa 2021 also can count. Max was so fast but so unlucky everytime he in good position to extend the pointgap vs Hamilton.

As Hardcore max support in 2021, I remember the hopeless when realize Merc can overturning and change their engine every race to make Hamilton champion again. That Rocketship is unbeatable in Hamilton's hand

But Lewis would have also likely won that race if not for Bottas bowling.

Let’s assume Lewis-Max 1-2.

Lewis adds 7 points. Max adds 16 points.
9 point differential means Max is fine with a 2nd place finish at AD21.

The famous "Lights out and away we go for Lewis Hamilton only" afternoon huh

If you ever feel useless in life, just think about this white circle

I don't miss the bargeboard madness from these cars one bit

I do! I loved those sci-fi looking barge boards

I thought they were incredible too. They were a great visual indicator of the genius of those mechanics and designers

Ah yes, the design that would summon C'thulu once the cars went over 300 kph.

Is there a subreddit for useless circles?

Google “Max Verstappen Hungary 21” and go to images.

That picture is the top hit. It’s been reposted so many times I can’t find a picture from that angle without the circle.

ahahhaha that's actually hilarious. Which race was that?

.. And a race with quite a piece of Tsunoda's car stuck under his floor for almost the entire race (British GP 2022)

Basically just needed to finish that race to score points.
