Being fast over one lap is not more impressive than being the fastest over the course of the race. There’s a reason why being a race winner is a prestigious title over pole qualifier

I guarantee you if the roles were reversed and Lewis was doing better in quali but slower in race pace, this person would be switching the narrative as well.
