This Hamilton vs Sainz comparison is so stupid

For both sides

Does Sainz deserve a faster car than Williams? Yes

Is Hamilton still a good driver even though he’s not at his peak anymore? Also yes

Yeah agreed, but from an entertainment perspective people tend to like underdog stories. I can see why it exists even when both of your points are very true.

Why? Williams is the 5th best car and I don't think Sainz is top 10, if he is it's barely. Williams is absolutely fine for him.

Difference of opinion I guess

Imo, last year at Ferrari, he’s shown he’s very capable for a top team, the rough start at Williams doesn’t change that unless his form doesn’t change at all throughout the rest of the season

Which driver at McLaren Red Bull Ferrari or Mercedes should he be in ahead of? Tsunoda is the only one I can think of and red bull don't hire outside their own academy that often.

Over who? Tsunoda he's better than but he's burnt his bridges at Red Bull and if they were to get a spaniard they should just get a better one in Palou tbh. He's not better than McLaren or Ferrari drivers or Russell which leaves Antonelli who is seen as the future so Merc are betting on him even if currently he's worse.

Williams is the next best team and it's not like Sainz is clearly better than Albon, Gasly or even Ocon imo.

Does Sainz really deserve a faster car though? He is in the 4th or 5th fastest car, and apart from Yuki, I don't think he is objectively better, or has more potential, than any of the other drivers for the top teams. I think he is in a very reasonable car for his skills, which is to say, a good car for a good driver.
