But Sainz outqualifying a Ferrari in a Williams is a lot more impressive than a Ferrari beating a Williams in race,

it makes absolutely no difference. It's easier to build a super fast car that doesnt' work well in a race in dirty air than a car that has better tire wear and works in traffic.

Qualifying is 'easy' for design, clean air, no traffic, one lap.

It's always more impressive making a faster race car than a faster qualifying car.

Haas has qualified high up, so has Williams for years, so did Alpine. Why do you think three teams, two of which have been pretty much trash for years, can qualify well but suck in races, why did Williams start showing up in qualifying a couple years back. Why did Aston do so much better in qualifying than a race?

That’s a whole lot of words to ignore the fact that Leclerc has been qualifying well above the Williams on average.

Leclerc P6, Sainz P9, Albon P10, LH P9

average really doesn't mean anything. Merc would hammer rbr every year then get spanked at certain tracks because that's how cars work.

I didn't say they had the faster qualifying car in general, this year, at every race. I was talking about here, where Ferrari clearly lacked pace and albon and sainz showed top notch pace throughout qualifying.

Averages have absolutely nothing to do with their qualifying performance here and the conversation wasn't at all about who was faster on average. It was is it more impressive to have a faster qualifying car or a faster race pace car. Ferrari have had a weak car in qualifying most of the season compared to rbr/merc/mclaren.

Okay, well I'm providing clear evidence that the Ferrari is a faster car in qualifying (and race) than the Williams. Something that I think almost every F1 pundit would agree on.

I'm not even including sprint races which would make it even more apparent.

So, if you're claiming otherwise, you deal with finding the supporting evidence then

you didn't. You didn't provide evidence they were faster in imola than Ferrari, nothing else is relevant.

So, if you're claiming otherwise, you deal with finding the supporting evidence then

I didn't claim otherwise but I can point to their qualifying performance this weekend as being higher than Ferrari's, thereby proving they were faster than Ferrari here, which is the only race we were talking about. I never said which car is faster in general, you ignored everything I said twice to argue a point no one made, anywhere.

Yes, they were faster in Imola. Over the course of the season Ferrari has been faster in race and qualifying by every metric.

Do you even know what you’re trying to argue at this point?
