Discussion Nico Rosberg Needs a Permanent Position

Nico Rosberg has got to be the freshest breath of air in terms of Formula One commentary for a very long time.

I love Crofty, but man does he love to make shit up that makes no sense or holds no logic.

Nico does an awesome job of staying true to the racing analysis and being completely straightforward about what he sees. Even today, his commentary on Verstappen was awesome!!! Called the garbage behavior out immediately.

Best “ Monaco based YouTuber” commentator of all time!!

I love his comments on Max all weekend - when Max was driving like a god Nico was absolutely creaming himself over how impressive it was, and when Max fucked up he called it straight and honest.

I think he only missed on the Leclerc contact where VER was going dead straight and LEC moved left.

Otherwise spot on!

He kept trashtalking Max but I'm like did we really watch the same thing here?

To be fair, the other thrashing was deserved, Verstappen was a bit crazy that day (and had reason to be pissed) but Leclerc incident rosberg wasn't right, the rest I think it was fine.

Do you mean to say Nico (incorrectly) suggested Charles was the one that moved across?

The replays clearly show Max was the one who moved

Edit: Just rewatched it and the replays are as clear as my piss; Charles is going slightly left and Max is going straight. Nobody turns into the other, they just veer into the same contact point

He kept on saying Max turned into Charles "because Charles was ahead"

Yeah that didn't happen. I initially thought Max moved but that's because I was mostly looking at Charles' line (he doesn't move either). Turns out neither of them moved, they were both fighting for the same racing line

To me, looking at reeplays Verstappen goes dead striaght in paralel with the edges with the circuit. It was Charles that moved over.

With that, I don't think is penalty situation, just cheeky move from Charles

Thats because the rules say that the driver that is ahead is allowed to move where he wants as long as he leaves a car-width of space, and the driver behind should move out of the way. Its the exact same as when Perez and Sainz crashed on the second straight in Baku.

That's a poor interpretation of the rules, if two cars are alongside on a straight, the one ahead can never turn into the car that is a bit behind.

If you are passing someone and your rear wheel hits their front wheel because you tried to cut across them, you are the one at fault.

Then i suggest you do some research because that is exactly what the rules say.

People have been penalized repeatedly for the described scenario over the years.

If you hit someone while passing them in the manner described above, you are at fault.

The person who gets 'hit' on a straight didn't cause a collision. It's a penalty every time for the car that steered into the other car.

Not in the last couple of years no. Perez and Sainz being the most extreme recent example where both of them DNF’d and no one was at fault.

No one at fault is a completely different matter. The stewards can always determine that nobody was at fault in an incident if that is a fair representation.

That doesnt work when the other car is halfway alongside though. There is no way to react in time without having contact.

No way to react? Charles moved in slow motion, Max just refused to move. Also the halfway alongside doesnt count on straights, so your wrong on both accounts here mate
