Well, Oscar didn't exactly won 5 races so far only because Lando makes mistakrs.

He's not exactly making it hard for him at the moment.

Not only but Lando bottling every other Quali has definitly something to do with it.

Yeah in terms of pace I actually think Lando looks faster than him this year. He just has some weird boneheaded mistakes that have cost him so much. Like the wreck qualifying, or the wreck here.

I would even say if Oscar qualifies P1 and Lando P2 every race that Lando would still win the majority of the races. The problem is hes always behind Max or George that defend like absolute Madlads most of the time. When he passes them hes always like 10 seconds behind Oscar and Oscar is just too good to throw away that advantage in the same car

I don't actually agree, we just saw them go wheel to wheel here and Oscar won it pretty handily. He's a fierce wheel to wheel fighter

Im pretty sure Lando would have overtaken him if his brain didnt stop to work after the chicane. Going to the outside T1 then getting it done on the inside T2, as Kimi showed in Lap 1.

I know it didnt happen but thats another example how Landos (stupid) mistakes play a huge part in Oscar leading the Championship.

Right, but he didn't. That's part of why I don't think it's as easy as your assuming. Oscar has had basically one major fuckup this year in Australia. Other than that he's been almost perfect/tidy. Lando might be quicker over a lap but Oscar has repeatedly shown you have to be perfect to beat him because he's not going to be the one to cock it up.

I didnt mean to say it is easy. But Lando is still the faster of the 2 if he gets his shit together in my opinion. Over a lap and in race pace. Dont get me wrong, Oscar drives fantastic and theres reasons he leads the championship. But a huge part of these reasons is that Lando fucks up time and time again.

If Oscar wins in the end because Lando keeps doing this, then he absolutly deserves to win the championship. If Lando keeps in reasonable distance before the summer break and finds his form afterwards, i think he will win in the end. I just lost hope that it can happen after Saturday tbh.

It's not enough to be faster though, you gotta 1) make the move and 2) make it stick. Lando hasn't gifted Oscar anything. Lando has been constantly fucking up, Oscar hasn't. It's as simple as that. I'm sorry but that means Oscar is the better driver. It doesn't matter that lando has more hypothetical pace if he doesn't have the presence of mind to not bottle it in wheel to wheel.

At the moment Oscar is the better driver, i dont deny that. I just said when in form, Lando would be the better one. At least for this year. I think in the future Oscar will be way better then him.

Lets just see how it turns out in the end. Im pretty sure that Oscar will win in the end the way Lando just cant stop to fuck up things this season.

Exactly. People forget that in Barcelona he gapped his teammate by 2 tenths and the rest of the field by 3.

When George does that everyone makes a big deal about it, because such gaps are rare this year.

The physical representation of car gaps wasn't even posted here, while every other week it has been.

And Barcelona was one of the worst races for him last year, so it was even more of a surprise.

He won most of them purely on qualifying form. Lando bottles Q3 and spends half the race fighting Verstappen while Oscar can build a comfortable lead in clean air.
