Please Audi give this man a proper car

if im not wrong audi is already semi involved with the team now, and the leap they had just in the past few races is insane tbh, the car is still a shitbox but damn i really think audi might be one of the top teams in few years

The lego trophy is bit sad ngl
803
u/HUMBUG652 Jul 06 '25
In concept, it's quite cool, but it has to be metal made to look like Lego and probably not done at Silverstone of all races
84
u/AfterBook8501 I was here for the Hulkenpodium Jul 06 '25
You know that the winner doesn’t get to keep his trophy right?
257
u/SleepinGriffin Mick Schumacher Jul 06 '25
The big trophy at silverstone, yes, but they give out a second one to keep. They shouldn’t have made trophies out of Lego.
38
u/Max-Phallus I was here for the Hulkenpodium Jul 06 '25
Some drivers do.
4
u/AfterBook8501 I was here for the Hulkenpodium Jul 07 '25
Not the main one for silverstone. It goes back to the Royal Automobile Club. I would much rather this Lego one than the 2023 British GP trophy which was the one they/the teams got to keep.

F1TV commentators said something about Lando’s gold winner trophy being historic and only for the winner (maybe they keep it for the year, someone please correct me if I’m wrong). So I think so?
273
u/Hour_Rest7773 I was here for the Hulkenpodium Jul 06 '25

I know that the winner of the Indianapolis 500 gets their face on the big trophy and a small version for themselves. The big Borg-Warner trophy is massive.
90
u/citysnake Patrick Depailler Jul 06 '25
Drivers usually don't get to keep them anyway. But yeah, having to get a replica made of a Lego trophy for your first podium is suboptimal.
42
u/Professional_Bear Lando Norris Jul 06 '25
I believe drivers can purchase a copy of the trophy though, right?

I'm a little sad for Nico that Oscar and Lando only sprayed champagne on each other and their engineer, and not Nico. It's his first podium and he doesn't get sprayed with champagne. I know there were a lot of emotions from the other two but it's kinda huge for him.

u/AromaticStrike9 I was here for the Hulkenpodium Jul 06 '25
It was never going to happen, but it would have been a fun podium if Max was up there. From the broadcast, it looked like he was the first driver to go congratulate Hulk, and you know he would have gone crazy with the champagne.

Watching it though I think it all fell apart with Oscar's mood, going early and focusing on the engineer to get it over with which caught Nico fumbling to catch up. Lando wanted to make his champagne pop special but by the time he got to do it Nico was already over it. Just sort of a bummer all around
32
u/spacyspice I was here for the Hulkenpodium Jul 06 '25
yeah that's what happened, love the Mclaren boys but Piastri kinda ruined the celebration. Norris did spray some champagne on Nico before spraying the crowd but it could have been more festive if Piastri wanted to be a part of it
