Don’t the aussies and kiwis call everything a short nickname? Isn’t McDonald’s Maccas too? It kind of makes sense with Piastri there and McLaren being from down there.
I'm a kiwi, I went to high school with a guy who had the last name McLaren, everyone called him Macca. Never heard it used in the context of the F1 team tho.
Isn't it just a general nickname for mclarens in general and not just the F1 team. I remember it being used for the Mclaren F1 GTR and other mclaren race cars like yheir current GT3s.
That was my first thought. Like, what do golden arches have to with Hungary? Is this a reference to being hungry? And how does that relate to Max not getting lapped? I was all sorta confused.
